Not too bad...a little more pleasing to the eyes and more informative...

Amazon.com Blu-ray home page

Amazon says "I Do Blu"

Very cool, now they need that on the Amazon.com home page.

I noticed it earlier, when I was checking the Ratatouille numbers.

I just find it interesting that they put a promotion for $10 off:
Ratatouille + ( Cars or Pixar Short Films Collection )

But obviously they didn't test this promotion because it only works for Rata+Cars. If you try Rata+Pixar the cart isn't giving the $10.

BTW - If they fix it by the time you read this then what I meant was "NICE PAGE"...

Must be fixed. I just this moment bought Rat and the Pixar Shorts and it gave me the $10 off.

Boo-hoo...same old boring HD-DVD home page...no love for HD-DVD.

Amazon.com HD-DVD Home Page

Nothing there but proof that HD-DVD is desperate...nothing but "$X off this..." or "Free" this...

Agreed-- it's eye-catching. Isn't that what it's all about?

Is the $10 dscount the reason Ratatoulie is selling so well? Thats a good job on Disney's part, but a little dissapointing. I was thinking the Blu-ray install base was the reason.

I doubt it man , im pretty sure Rat made alot of money at the movies so alot of people enjoyed it , plus its meant to look stunning , plus alot of people are fans of pixar's work so i would imagine the $10 is just a bonus but people would be buying rat regardless of $10 off.

Oh ya, no doubt, Ratatoulie would sell very well, but as it looks right now, it has the potential to beat Transformers first week numbers. Would this still be accomplished without the 10 buck deal?

Keep in mind that Transformers is one of HD DVDs only big titles, they put a lot of eggs in that basket and HD DVD supporters dont have the luxury to choose a different title in its place like we do, basically everyone who owns an HD DVD player will be buying or has bought Transformers. Just look at the Bourne Ultimatum, it hasnt even come out yet and it is already in teh top 10, why? Because thats the next good title they are getting and once agian they dont have the luxury to be picky.

The new site is a step backwards.

Previously, if you went to Blu-ray and clicked the Blu-ray disc players shopping category, all PS3 models were listed, but if you went to Hi-Def 101 the PS3 models were excluded.

Now, PS3 models are not even listed in the main Blu-ray disc players shopping category.

The info for the blu side is quite good. but i just flicked over to the HD DVD page and there is some very misleading data there like 1080i being sent to a 1080p hdtv becomes true 1080p.

Finally! I was wondering when Amazon would do something about this particular cash cow. If not for this forum, I wouldn't have known about the October BOGO sale, or last night's Pixar promotion. They just didn't advertise anywhere.

And I hope they realise that Master and Commander was not an October release...
