I just bought a Blu Ray player in Mexico.

LG Mexico people told me that if I buy a Blu Ray movie in USA it won't play.

As far as I know, Blu Ray Region A (1) includes both, USA and Mexico.

Not like DVD's that USA was region 1 and LA was region 4.

However, would like to hear experiences, comments.

No practical experience here, but Region A includes North, Central and South America as far as I know.

I wonder if you mean LA as in Los Angeles? I bought several DVD from my visit to USA in Los Angeles, and it was region 1.
As of Mexico, I understand that mexico uses PAL, and PAL is in region B mostly. Maybe, in general it's region A, but the PS3 distributed there is region B.

Indonesia is PAL. but the PS3 distributed there is NTSC-J. And so does Singapore and Hong Kong. They have common region, though: Region 3 DVD, and Region A BD.

Hmm...I didn't think PAL/NTSC had any relevance to BD.

Yes, because most of PAL regions are in region B, while NTSC is in region A. It affect how PS3 is distributed.

BTW.. PAL and NTSC are not HD. They are SD formats. HD formats are 720 and 1080 and are universal.

they are not, but it seems to me, as I said above, PALs are region B, while NTSCs are Region A (although not all of them)

He used LA as Latinamerica. Mexico is in region A; and its Standard Definition is NTSC, as most of America is (I think Brasil and Argentina have or had PAL/PAL related broadcast, but DVDs in those 2 countries are NTSC too). Don't think any PS3s sold in America would be region B as people then would have to imports Blu-rays from Europe and Oceania.
