Default Are Blu-ray fans more honest? Sites that claim to be neutral usually HD DVD biased...

ever been to dvdtalk.com?

they claim to be neutral but it's pretty obvious everyone on there is biased towards hd-dvd.

say anything positive about blu-ray and there will ALWAYS be someone who will try to have the last word against blu-ray no matter how irrelevant the counter point is. say anything positive about hd-dvd and a handful of people will respond saying they agree.

people here prefer blu-ray but that's clear from the start, just look at the website's name. i think it's a bit more underhanded for websites that are pro-hddvd to claim they're neutral.

yup thats all true and Blu-Ray fans are mostly honest people who give you facts about things you would need to know, etc. Hd-Dvd fans they act more like little children and they come on here saying that Hd-Dvd is better but do you see Blu-Ray fans doing that in the Hd-Dvd forums? nope. We do not lie to people who want to get into Blu-Ray or well anyone when it comes to dicussions about Blu-Ray

I would say we are more honest, look at the FUD levels spread on both sides, which one has fans using FUD and mis-information more frequently? that said,I'll go one more step of honesty and say look at the name of this site, we'll probably say we're more honest just as if you go to a pro-hd-dvd forum, you'd hear how they are more honest

but seriously in all honesty I do firmly believe we know what we're talking about, we aren't ashamed of our format, we don't need to make excuses for our format. I think that is signifigant reasons as to why we are more honest.

Exactly, how can you be honest when you constantly have to make up excuses for your format, like stuff that "doesn't matter", say capacity, bandwidth, movie studio & CE support... When what they really want to say is "damn it I just got it 'cause it was DIRT CHEAP", but they can't say that, since it would make their format look bad...

I definitly agree with you about AVS being biased, but I'm not so sure about Hidefdigest. I used to think there was a lot of bias towards HD DVD there, but now I kinda think that it appears that way because there are more forum members at HDD that support the red side. I can't really say that I've seen the mods show a huge amount of bias there. The mods at AVS, and therefore the site itself, is biased towards HD DVD.

Likewise for Peter Bracke's reviews. I now think that his tastes are so different from my own that usually his reviews are not useful at all to me. But hey, reviews are subjective, so the best you can do is find a reviewer that values the same things in a movie that you do. Then you have a reviewer that you can trust. In most cases, this is not Peter Bracke, but that only applies to me.

Anyway, I think that things are better than they used to be at Hidefdigest, and they will continue to improve over there as Blu keeps winning week after week. AVS is a place to be avoided for sure.

HDD site itself and the reviews are pretty fair, but the moderation in the forums is just that little bit HD DVD biased to not appear obvious. They also let the HDDVDiot in disguise JoshZ post articles there. They let in all the lowlives and the runt of the litter from AVS in there. When the next piece of big news hits blu such as warner or universal switch, I'll be going there to gloat, and gloat HARD.

Well, there's a format war raging and the side with a somewhat poorer showing requires more spin in order to ensure it's survival. If they simply accepted sales ratios without adding attach rates sans & avec PS3's depending on what suited them, or without other caveats then that would simply mean admitting defeat.
Nothing new about this, it's probably been happening throughout human history.

I really think the Blu fans are more honest. If you were to analyze the topics on this website and compare them to the ones on AVS, you will really see that the people on here really tell you like it is without cutting corners. We have a pretty smart bunch of people that really know the Blu-Ray product. So I would have to say YES. We are more honest.

I think that we here are pretty honest. when someone spouts bullshit we call them on it and correct them. BD supporters have relied on common sense and a superior product, hd dvd has relied on people like amir at avs, treadstone at hdd.com and other fud spouting personalities.

Everyone thought HighDefDigest.com was HD DVD biased too until Peter Bracke's recent 5 star reviews of Cars and Rat. When those reviews came out all that bias chatter here died. Some of you guys over analyze too much.

Nah the bias comments remain, along with fun jokes.

It's just a matter of people tending ot overlook those who speak falsely or inaccurately in regards to the format of their choice, and conversely fixating on those who speak inaccurately for the other.

It's the internet and all .

here's a great example of HD-DVD Vs. BD https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...31&postcount=9

I won't say anything else except look at his signature as well, I'll let you decide if he's being honest with everyone there

I think the Blu-ray supporters are simply more confident in the product and the future. There is no reason to get all tense when you have the winning hand.
