Thumbs down Cancelled my Amazon account

amazon had what appeared to be an AMAZING deal. it was definitely "too good to be true". You vote for a product, the most votes, that product is the winner promotional item, you check back within the time frame to receive the product based on the quantity available.

So I voted for the Nintendo Wii, $79 bucks. Voted for it, it was declared winner. Been an amazon customer for almost 8 years now... I check back at 12:01 am. the Check Out now button lights up.. i hit it... then it tells me "We're sorry, you were not randomly selected for this product"

Basically, your vote is benefiting others, and not you, it's a lottery pool, and I should've known this. I felt like I was led toward a wild goose chase by Amazon's Marketing strategy and my only comeback is to stop doing business with Amazon, and stick with the traditional black friday deals.

I didn't win either, but oh well, I can't really afford a 3rd ps3 and I probably would have just offered the deal to someone else.

Amazon sucks in general when it comes to customer service. I had an issue with them almost a year ago and all I could get was a phone rep that could not speak english. It sucks that so many American companies are going this route. Since then I try not to do business with Amazon and try to deal with smaller companies that go the extra mile.

Kinda childish. I voted, was hoping to win, but I did not. I knew the odds. So what - I didn't loose anything

Hence why they call it a lottery. Lol.

I have been buying from amazon.com for 10 years and have had nothing but GREAT service from them.

Just want to say that my wife works for Amazon and the way they overwork their employees is criminal. She is busily trying to find a new job, but has precious little time to look considering she does about 20 hours of overtime a week. I am seriously considering not buying from Amazon after all this is over. BTW, my wife mentioned that turnover at Amazon is on the average of 50 per week.

Yeah, I didn't get the PS3, F$#k them and their F$%king lottery.

Seriously, you were expecting to win? Should I complain to the state because i've been playing their lottery and never hit the jackpot? Please.

Yes, you've been with them 8 years. And?

How many, like me, didn't get picked and spend $5k+ plus annually, have been with them since they opened and bring them business through their affiliate program?

There are no favorites.

All the rules are clear and it's much better than "speed refreshing."

Bottom line, thousands are getting deals. It might not be you or I, but I don't see any other store doing anything close.

So I guess it's Amazon fault you didn't read the rules, just like it's the game developer fault for letting parents buy Rate M games for their 12 year child, just like it's the police fault for pulling you over for speeding because you didn't read the speed limit sign. I hate it when people blame someone else for something that’s clearly their fault for simply not reading.
