It's not really bad enough to be good, it's just unremarkably bad.

For some reason...I kind of like this movie. Kind of reminded me of Event Horizon, Lifeforce...and The Black Hole.

Unlike those movies, this one left me with a sour taste.......there's not enough space on the bluray to cover all the drama that happened. Even James Spader has been vocal about how this ranks as one of those "I wish I didn't...." type movies that every actor/actress has....

I love this film. It's mostly because it came out during that time in my life where I was renting movies every week. It was one of those films that I was excited to buy on DVD. Yes it's fairly lackluster but there are some solid elements to it as well. Scream reported that this is the R Rated cut as well which is the only one worth owning as far as I'm concerned.

I still can't believe Shout is releasing this mess. Must be one of those "you can't win them all" situations

Because it's very derivative, is full of plot holes and generally not very good? Even if you knew nothing about the mess of shooting and post-prod, you can tell it's a film that was desperately mucked about with in the editing room.

If Shout were to somehow release a workprint cut of the film (or a version before the cuts) my interest would skyrocket. I'd go from indifference to utter fascination. It's too bad studios throw this excised material away. Amazingly, I'm still compelled to grab this BD when it comes out. Maybe

I'll be picking this up too, I hope the extras are in depth and cover all the drama.

There appears to be only a single new extra - a 25-minute piece made by Shout factory for this release. Everything else is ported over from the ancient DVD.

I had this pre-ordered simply because it's space-opera and I am a super fan of the genre. Reading it has a poor transfer however definitely makes me step back a bit. $20 for a bad movie just because you love the genre is one thing, but add on top of that a poor disc? Then you're getting into real crazy-town.

Hmm...I'm contemplating whether or not I want to pick this up. The price isn't too bad on Amazon but still I don't know how much I will revisit the title after giving it a watch. I really wish there was a commentary on this.

I was wondering if anyone else who had this blu had an issue with the sound in one moment? There is a very quick little moment in the scene with Spader and Basset discussing the pear wine where the sound drops out completely. Like half a second maybe, but I sure did notice it. It did not seem to interfere with the dialogue, but it was a noticeable anomaly nonetheless. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this?
