Default Life after the war

What do you guys think life will be like after the war?

I'm speaking out to everyone, HD-DVD and Blu-ray fans-alike.

We don't know exactly when this war will truly end, nor "if" there would be a winner at all.
However, what we do know is that we (as in all of us) took part in this, one way or another.

I have here three (obvious) scenario.

1. Blu-ray wins.

2. HD-DVD wins.

3. Stalemate.

If any of the three scenario above should come to pass.
How would life be like, for all party, in all scenario.

1. Blu-ray wins.

It's as simple as that

That part I get, but what about HD-DVD fans? What would they become?
Actually, a better question, what if HD-DVD actually won (somehow) in the end. What become of you?

I'd be forced to wait a few years before adopting HD-DVD until HD-DVD can provide lossless audio as a rule and not the exception to the rule.

But how would you feel, to look back at your time here in Blu-society. Every time you look at your Blu-ray player, whether it be a stand-alone or a PS3.

Losing to a side you were once agains't, and then force to join them. I don't know about you, but I would feel pretty sad.

If HD DVD won and they left the specs the way they are now and continued to make the combo discs, no not a chance I would buy into it. If they came out with a player with advanced bandwidth (made by someone else than Toshiba) I would look into it as a posibility.

The HD-DVD fan will be forced to turn to the BD
And it is unimaginable that the HD-DVD can win

You have a better chance of getting hit by lighting on the way to cash your winning lotto ticket than an HD DVD victory!!!

I think when this war is over we're going to find that all of this zealotry that most people display will disappear because there will be only one choice for HD movies. At the end of the day, watching movies in HD is the point of all this.

With that said, HD-DVD cannot win outright because of the PS3 and the fact that the rest of the world has pretty much adopted Blu-Ray. HD-DVD followers act as if there is a point spread or something. "Since we're getting 21 points, the fact that we lost by 20 means nothing since we beat the spread." If Blu ray somehow did lose, the entry cost to HD-DVD is what, $150? A dual formal player is also an option also. In the end, I'd buy HD-DVD if Blu lost.

There can be only one: Blu-ray. There is no other way.

If HD DUD were to win, I would buy a VERY nice dual format player with all of the capabilities maxed out in both formats. I am not about to deprive myself of movies in HD content. Lets face it... HD DVD may only be a half step above DVD but that is better than going back to DVD altogether. If Blu won, perfect! Im already invested into it so there is no loss there.

If it were a stalemate, meh... lets not go there. I would probably say something I regret...

If anyone refuses to buy the other format, because their format lost, they are going too far.

No one should have any hate or love toward any of the corporations involved, because they don't even know our names...and more importantly, they don't care (nor should they).

That's part of the reason why HD DVD fanboys seem to get more emotional. Many have this futile belief that Sony is bad and Toshiba is good. That being said, I believe when (key word) BR becomes the undisputed winner, HD DVD fanatics will have a harder time making the switch...as they tend to be more emotional about the matter.

This is probably part of my bias, but BR supporters seem to just want to enjoy their format. Whereas, HD DVD supporters turn into "underdog" fanboys that feel the urge to "prove" something.

1. I would spend a lot of money, building a small theater in my future courtyard and inviting friends over to listen to a great experience. However, it will probably by my last investment in a material software (I can see in the mid-near future that CD, DVD, Hd-dvd (sooner than everything else ), blu-ray, even journal etc. will disappear because of environnemental pressure). But I expect to spend a lot of money in blu-ray media.

2. That would also be great cause everyone would sale their blu-ray over the internet for a cheap price and I would buy them. Then I'll built a big collection of blu-ray for pennies and listen to lossless audio and probably buy a hd-dvd player for the newer releases.

3. Humm the opposite as what 95pgtproject as suggest:
Waiting for the Nielsen numbers
Laughting at hd-dud fanboys
Be united as a team (a great feeling to be part of a community)
Sharing a passion

You can see in my post that I'm a positive guy lol!
