I caught this on TCM last year and if Sony does even half as well as they usually do with Columbia titles this should look spectacular.
It's not eye-candy in the traditional 'sweeping vistas' sense (though it does have a few of those too) but it's very rich visually. |

Back in 1968, the theater up on the corner of my Chicago street (Commodore Theater at Irving Pk. Rd. & Albany Ave.) would let you in for one dollar, and you could stay for every screening, so I did for GWCTD.
Likely the first time (10 years old), I realized I was a Spencer Tracy fan. For unknown reasons, I never bought the VHS, or DVD, so a top-notch TT BD will be great. Thanks Twilight Time ! |

The Sony release is among the worst looking releases from Sony that I've seen:
http://www.caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergl...ID=471#auswahl Still looks better than an average Universal title though. |

I've never ordered a Twilight Time Blu-ray before. How far in advance does the pre-order usually go up?

https://translate.google.com/transla...-text=&act=url Google also has a currency converter, just type "currency converter" and it should be the first result. Right now, 9.89 euros = 11.18 U. S. dollars. |

There's an uptick in resolution, but not a demonstrable one unfortunately. I'll pick it up regardless, but judging by the captures, it's very easy to see why so many people I know just don't see the reason to go to Blu-ray. This looks to be one of those cases where I almost agree with them.

Even so, there is still added detail in the Blu-ray caps. If Twilight Time's release uses the same Sony master... just import it. It would definitely not be worth the $35... just like Sleepless in Seattle and As Good As it Gets, which were sub par transfers. |
