Australia Immortal Beloved (20th anniversary Edition)

Hello.
I was wondering if anyone has this Bluray.
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Immor...lu-ray/112689/

Does it have English subtitles?
And does it have the same extras with the US release? (commentary, Beloved Beethoven, Behind the Scenes)

I just wanted to buy it because I like the cover better that features the original film poster than the US photoshopped one.

Also, according to specs here, it's in MPEG-4 AVC 34.99 Mbps
while the US release is MPEG-2 23.39 Mbps. (http://caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergleich...ess=#vergleich)

Does that mean that it's better?

The audio also is DTS-HD MA in comparison to Dolby TrueHD. But I believe that would be essentially the same.

I would strongly advise against buying this as it seems to be inferior.

The info on this website appears to be incorrect.

Specs of the Australian release should be:
Codec MPEG-4 AVC
English Dolby TrueHD 5.1
BD-25GB Disc
Region B
Subtitles English HoH
No extras. Barebones release.

Better codec does not necessarily mean that the PQ would be better (unless there was a new remaster). These catalogue movies were probably derived from the same DVD master, so there would not be much improvement.

The information provided in the listing is based on my BDInfo scan of what is actually on the disc, and it is most definitely accurate.

As I recall, the back cover of this release contains some errors in describing the specifications. I don't have that or the disc to hand right this second, but I will update shortly.

Thank you very much for your replies.
Ok, McCrutchy I'll be looking forward to it, thanks.

Well, in reply to laterspin, I thought when you have a better codec, you have a better encode, and maybe the grain is depicted better etc..
By the way, do you know for a fact that it doesn't have extras or are you based on info from Australian websites?

So I checked the printed info on the back cover of the blu ray, and I checked with another website for specs and I am making a note of it. The back cover does not include extras. The text Dolby TrueHD 5.1 is printed in very large font on the back cover. So it is an error?

I was searching for the back cover.
Did you see it on the net, can you post a link please?

Yes, the back cover states TrueHD in error, and mentions English HoH subs, which are not present on the disc.

Here is the BDInfo scan.

There are no extras, just a static menu screen. There is no Sony logo attached to the film, instead the film is billed as an Icon production, presented by Exclusive Media, however, I don't have the Sony to compare.

I will be watching the disc soon, and can report back with my impressions.

correct.

while it's impossible to recreate it in the home theater setup, the 8-channel Sony Dynamic Digital Sound (SDDS mix) (in the cinema) of this was just utterly beautiful - five front speaker sound just gave this impressive wall of sound and gave the music tremendous power - sonically, it was both the music and the sound design that was memorable.
