Default I need some good news

Obviously, Blu-Ray has the specs and the sales. But something doesn't seem right to me. With all that going for BR, why would Paramount jump ship at this point? It doesn't make sense.

Now, most of the movies I want that are currently or soon to be available on some HD format, are either neutral or HD-DVD only. This sucks. I don't like HD-DVD. It doesn't make sense to me to settle for something less then best.

So, help me out here- give something to hold on to for the coming months. Don't really care what, but something.

Weinstein Company going blu would be nice - I read an old thread saying this was to happen at the beginning of 2007, but it obviously hasn't. I desperately want Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair on BR.

Paramount only went to Hd-Dvd because stupid toshiba is so desperate of having hd-dvd win the format war that they offered Paramount $150 mil to go Hd-Dvd exclusive and Paramount excepted it. plus you will find about at least 100 threads on here about that issue maybe i am being nice about that number but still Paramount is just dumb but thats probably one of the reasons why blu-ray hasnt won yet but if warner became blu-ray exclusive then well i think the format war would have to end there

As someone else mentioned, The Whole Bloody Affair is Weinstein. They took the rights with them when they left Miramax.

Kill Bill is Miramax, which makes it Disney. The Kill Bill films will almost certainly be BD exclusive.

The Whole Bloody Affair is Weinstein property. They have the right to piece the film back together. Disney (Miramax) could release both Kill Bill titles separately if they wished.

Interesting. This is the first I've heard of this "Whole Bloody Affair" business.

I'll be honest, I'd rather see the films in their theatrical format.

You're in the minority there, just like HD DVD software sales.

I feel the same way - my favorite movies "Borne Identity series" are on HD-DVD only, and I agree, this sucks!

I like to start a new discussion: Personally I hate this format war. I don't care what format I watch as long it is High Def and has Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD MA audio tracks. So if I had it my way, I'll force all studios to support both formats and let the consumers decide which one to buy, anything wrong with this idea? If studios don't want to spend the extra money to support both formats, then they are the greedy bastards, it's not like they can't afford it with the price of the discs they sell. I also don't understand why consumers are getting a war when it comes to the two formats? What do you care to watch as long as it is in High Def? You can buy either of the two players and get the movies you want, assuming they are on both formats, right? The way it is now, you have to spend double the money to buy a player if you want to watch all your favorite movies, and that's the thing that sucks the most. Any thoughts?
