Here what i wrote for my website, it will have blu ray section and my collection. Feel free to add or correct my essay and i will put it in my site. Here what i wrote on Blu Ray info, want to have most accurate info to destroy HD DUD
Blu-Ray is a superior and outstanding 1080p high definition (HD) quality movie which has 25 gigabyte or 50 gigabyte storage capacity discs. It means that there will be extras on the discs such as, behind scenes, delete scenes, commentary, etc. HDTV are required to watch Blu-Ray (720,1080i and 1080p) the Blu-Ray discs have a special resistant to scratches and fingerprints, it offers 6 times the resolutions of the details in picture and lossless audio quality. All discs have subtitles and closed captioned features. Blu-Ray uses blue laser which is superior to HD-DVD discs. The HD-DVD format is dying. I use my Sony Playstation 3 to play my Blu-Ray movie collection. The discs are range from $19.99 to $150 and it is worth spending that amount of money. There are many Blu-ray movies available to movie fanatics who enjoy high definition movies. I have found that bluray discs seem to be more sensitive to fingerprints than dvd and i would also add "up to" in front of the 6 times resolution. It also may be a little premature to say HD-DVD is dying, it will still last awhile yet.

Error 2: No comma after "such as" Error 3: Should be "deleted scenes" not "delete scenes" Error 4: Should be "HDTV's" not "HDTV" Error 5: HDTV's are not required, they are preferred Error 6: Start a new sentence with "the Blu-Ray discs have" Error 7: Resistance, not "resistant" Error 8: Start a new sentence with "it offers 6 times" Error 9: Should be "offers 6 times the resolution of a standard DVD and also offers lossless audio" instead of "offers 6 times the resolutions of the details in picture and lossless audio quality" Error 10: "uses a blue" instead of "uses blue" Error 11: comma before "which is superior" Error 12: "the discs range" not "the discs are range" Error 13: forgot the "-" in the 2nd to last "Blu Ray" |

1. It's "Blu-ray", not "Blu-Ray". 4 & 5. It's "HDTVs", not "HDTV's". Since when have pluralised words attacted an apostrophe? Apostrophies show possession (Fred's Blu-ray player) and contracted words (let's watch a movie). Does it show that the latter is a pet peeve of mine? :-) |

Blu-ray is a "superior quality technology" not "movie" ... ... discs have either one or two layers with about 25 GB of storage capacity per layer ... meaning that there can potentially be more space for extras content such as ... Blu-ray discs have a special coat that is designed to better resist scratches and fingerprints ... it offers up to 6 times better resolution in the picture and lossless sound compared to standard DVD's ... Each Disc can be encoded with an impressive amount of subtitles and other such closed captioned features with some degree of interactivity superior to standard DVD's .. The Blu-ray technology uses a blue laser with a higher focused precision allowing it the use of a better bitrate and a higher storage capacity compared to HD-DVD ... With a higher studio support, an even higher hardware industry support and a much stronger sales ratio of discs, Blu-ray is potentially the next gen format of choice and stand a very strong chance of beating HD-DVD's which are in fact improved DVD's only, whereas Blu-ray is truly a new format from scratch ... Etc ... ![]() |

For movies, Blu-ray the MOST bandwidth and space for bringing the BEST movie presentations into your home. Blu-ray movies will, typically, look almost transparent to the original. An HDTV (preferrably 1080p but even 720p and 1080i will provide a great boost in quality) is necessary to unlock the FULL resolution of Blu-ray, but an HDTV is not required to enjoy some of the extra benefits Blu-ray movies provide. Blu-ray offers up to 6 times the picture quality of DVD and up to 10 times the sound quality. The most common device used to play Blu-ray discs is the Playstation 3. Blu-ray discs have a protective hard coating to resist damage to the bottom of the disc. It, also, resists smudging. Loose scratched discs on purchase is a thing of the past with Blu-ray. Blu-ray movie prices range from $18 to $30 (not MSRP...boxsets can go to $100+). Buy one get one free sales happen on a regular basis on over 100 titles. Blu-ray discs uses a blue laser diode with a focusing lens to make the beam smaller for more usable space. HD DVD, the competing technology, uses a blue laser diode as well, but does not use a focusing lens for increasing overall space. HD DVD has a maximum video/audio bandwidth of 30Mbps. Blu-ray has a maximum video/audio bandwidth of 48Mbps. For comparison, DVD's maxiumum video/audio bandwidth is 11Mbps. Blu-ray is currently winning the format war against HD DVD by 9:1 in Japan, around 7:1 in Australia, 3:1 in Europe, and 2:1 in the US. There are currently over 2.6 million Blu-ray players in the US. HD DVD current has 750,000 (we don't know for certain if this is worldwide or US only). Blu-ray is currently supported exclusively by Sony Pictures, 20th Century Fox, Disney, MGM, Lionsgate, Starz Home Entertainment (formerly known as Anchor Bay), Tartan, FUNimation, Pioneer Geneon, etc. Blu-ray is also supported by Warner Bros., New Line Cinema, Bandai Visual, etc. HD DVD is currently supported exclusively by Paramount and Universal. HD DVD also has support from Warner Bros., New Line Cinema, Bandai Visual, etc. Blu-ray is supported by over 170 Consumer Electronics (CE) manufacturers. That is over 80% of the CE industry. Among those are Pioneer, Sony, Panasonic, Philips, Sharp, Mitsubishi, Samsung, LG, Hitachi, Maxwell, TDK, etc. HD DVD is currently CE supported by Toshiba, Venturer, Samsung and Onkyo. As a future format, there is nothing HD DVD can bring to the consumer that Blu-ray can not, but the opposite can not be accurately said. Last edited by Ascended_Saiyan; 12-03-2007 at 12:32 AM.
