Default Mad Max Trilogy - Apr 28, 2015 (2-disc)

Anyone have info on this?

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Mad-M...lu-ray/126945/

I can't find any pictures and I'm wondering if it's worse quality because of it being listed as 2 discs or something.

It isn't the 3 disc 2013 one that came in a tin and later plastic case, as far as I can tell. But there's not much detail to tell me what it is.

Haven't heard about this one. Probably be better off with the three disc version. Happy with the trilogy set I got. Its a good transfer.

I saw this set at my local record store earlier. From the looks of it, it was outwardly identical to the 2013 set, and had I think $5 movie money for Fury Road.

I don't think it has been confirmed to be two discs.

All of the retailer listings say 2, but I'd love to know if that's accurate if it just looks the same as the 2013 set but is a new SKU just because it has $5 to see Fury Road.

Cool

I got the tin last week. The price was the same, so I opted for the swag packaging that will be on my shelf long after the movie cash is spent. Too bad the Shout! SE won't have movie cash.

The Shout SE looks slightly worse and screwed up the old special features somehow. With only one 20 minute new extra it's really a total failure of a release IMO, and rather embarrassing.

Not trying to be a "Shout hater" before anyone says so, I own and love a lot of their discs. This one was a pooch-screw though.

There really isn't much incentive to buy Mad Max from SF, especially for me since I was able to get the trilogy tin for $15 awhile back. It is interesting that they got a Mel Gibson interview though.

What do you mean they screwed up the old special features?

I don't know what he means either, because technically, the Shout disc adds a featurette on Mel Gibson that wasn't on the MGM Blu-Ray (was on their last DVD).

It was mentioned somewhere in the Mad Max Collector's Edition thread as I remember reading the posts from other forum members. I don't remember the exact issue mentioned but I'll see if I can find that discussion.

EDIT: OK, read the three posts in this thread ...

The only features have a terrible judder issue mentioned by several members and in reviews. Some people said they're unwatchable. That plus a worse transfer means it's $12.99 for one 20 minute new feature, which ain't worth it (IMO).
