It's going to be rough finding what you're looking for in a 500 dollar tv bud. Look at Some Sony's, Samsung's, and some Vizio's believe it or not. The Vizo's this year are full array I think and have more improved active dimming zones.

i found the sony w600b in the 400 dollar price range rtings.com gave the motion blur 7.5 they said the gray uniformity was great but the corners are a bit darker, but this can't be noticed when watching normal content what content would i notice and how bad is the motion blur on this set would it make the games look like garbage?

They gave motion blur a 7.5? That's not terrible. What tv are you running currently?

I think it's safe to say anything you get it going to be better than you got. Dude, I was just at Walmart today and they have great prices on tvs right now. You can get bigger than 40 inches 500/600 bucks. Try 50/55 inches.

You may want to check out the Samsung model UN40H5003AFXZA. Best Buy currently has it for $379.99 however this price tends to change a lot, I have seen them offer it as low as $329.99 recently so more than likely it will hit that price point again soon. Remember Best Buy prices run from Sunday morning to Saturday evening so the new ad and prices start every Sunday.

Lastly, if you like this TV, or anything else at Best Buy, use the 10% off coupon you can find at your local Post Office inside the Mover's Guide/Change of Address kits which are free if you ask for one. The coupon itself is attached to the mover's guide form. It will save you at least tax and a few extra bucks. It should work even at the $329.99 price too if it comes down to that price point before you decide to buy.

Ghosting/Motion Blur is pretty much a common thing you will notice on LCD and LED televisions that are 40" or bigger. I notice it myself, always have, and it drives me crazy, which is why I went with plasma, however, with plasma sets being impossible to find new in stores, your options are limited. You either will need to break down and get something in the LED line and hope you can find one with little motion blur, or you simply will need to wait until they get to a point where they eliminate motion blur all together which I believe is supposed to be accomplished with 4K OLED sets but those will be very expensive until after a few years of being on the market.

It will drive you crazy if you read every review of every TV you are considering or wanting, there will be negative comments made for just about every TV. The best advice I, and probably everyone else here can give you is narrow down your choices and then find a Best Buy or other retailer in your area and see if they have them on display and go into the store for yourself and check them out, see if you notice any blur, or anything else you may not like. Ideally you are buying the TV and you will need to enjoy it so I would recommend you go that route so you can make the decision based on checking out the TV in-person.

You will be able to tell motion blur without asking anyone in the store, if they have the set looped with a Blu-ray player, I tend to notice it even more so. Prepare to spend some time in the store looking over TV's. It sounds like though if motion blur is something you notice easily, as I and others do whereas some don't, then you may want to wait out your TV purchase, if possible, until 4K OLED becomes more affordable. That or search on Amazon for Panasonic or Samsung plasma televisions, I have to think that there would be some up there for sale still from smaller dealers.
