It's going to be rough finding what you're looking for in a 500 dollar tv bud. Look at Some Sony's, Samsung's, and some Vizio's believe it or not. The Vizo's this year are full array I think and have more improved active dimming zones.

i found the sony w600b in the 400 dollar price range rtings.com gave the motion blur 7.5 they said the gray uniformity was great but the corners are a bit darker, but this can't be noticed when watching normal content what content would i notice and how bad is the motion blur on this set would it make the games look like garbage?

They gave motion blur a 7.5? That's not terrible. What tv are you running currently?

I think it's safe to say anything you get it going to be better than you got. Dude, I was just at Walmart today and they have great prices on tvs right now. You can get bigger than 40 inches 500/600 bucks. Try 50/55 inches.

it said Our set has some clouding, but nothing horrible. It's only noticeable with fully black images. how bad would that be during night scenes etc. then?

It wouldnt be that bad. 348 is a good deal. That set has a good rating and you'd have some cash left over. But, look over some other ones bro until you find that perfect one for your needs. Don't rush into anything, trust me on that.

Price should lower by December. Both have decent to good black levels so I don't think you can go wrong with which ever you choose. You should be ok either way.

You may want to check out the Samsung model UN40H5003AFXZA. Best Buy currently has it for $379.99 however this price tends to change a lot, I have seen them offer it as low as $329.99 recently so more than likely it will hit that price point again soon. Remember Best Buy prices run from Sunday morning to Saturday evening so the new ad and prices start every Sunday.

Lastly, if you like this TV, or anything else at Best Buy, use the 10% off coupon you can find at your local Post Office inside the Mover's Guide/Change of Address kits which are free if you ask for one. The coupon itself is attached to the mover's guide form. It will save you at least tax and a few extra bucks. It should work even at the $329.99 price too if it comes down to that price point before you decide to buy.
