Different movies have different ratio. Most will still have bars.. it is the only way to fit all of the picture on the screen. I have a few movies that fill my screen entirely.

Crank, Hellboy, and Superbad are some that are presented without black bars.

I have the 206BW (for sale, btw!) as well, and no, there is no settings changing the aspect ratio! The PS3 should have a firmware to compensate one day (though I doubt it).

just look for 1.85:1 or 1.78:1 those blu-ray's ar anamorphic widescreen (other words it will fill up the screen). 2.35:1 are the blackbars movies.

I have a 16:10 Samsung TV. It has a 16:9 mode. Try turning that off.

Oddly enough I'm trying to find the opposite solution for a friend. They have it connected to a Monitor [hdmi->dvi] that's 16:10 and it's streching, can't figure out how to get it 1:1...
