Default Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD MA Decoding

If a Blu-Ray player (for example the PS3) does not decode Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD MA, will it still pass the encoded bitstream to a Receiver so it can be decoded there?

The PS3 cannot (but it decodes DD THD internally), the new Samsung can and there are a few more coming that can.
