This is pretty early - usually these GoT seasons come out at the beginning of the following year after airing, just before the next season is about to start.

This is a pleasant surprise.
The long wait for the Blu-Ray set is always unbearable.

Yeah, March this year. This is a much better release date, & they'll get the Christmas present market now.

Highly doubtful it will come out on November 21st as indicated on the first post. Historically, the previous sets were released between February and March.

Edit: I think the OP based the date from Amazon.co.UK's GoT S6 product page. Amazon has long since removed it.

Great, I don't get Sky Atlantic, so the shorter wait is welcome.

Stunning season.

I'd usually wait for a complete series boxset once a show has finished, but I'm tempted to get the steelbooks

I've bought the first two seasons in steelbook format, and was intending to get the other ones, but the temptation to just wait it out now until the end to get the all in one complete series collection is strong.

I was pretty surprised to see the release date be so early. I'm used to having to wait a year, and then the season release cashes in on the hype build up for the next season.

I guess time will tell if they end up changing the premier of season 7 to the winter (which would be pretty apt come to think of it ) or it's just so they'll sell more Blu rays for Christmas. I'm edging towards the latter as even with reducing the number of episodes per season a show on that scale takes a LONG time to produce, and I don't know if HBO would want to shave 3-5 months off the production schedule of its flagship show.

If seasons 7-8 are going to be 25% shorter that'll mean the box sets will only cost £30 rather than £40 right?... I'm not holding my breath

I see Zavvi has the release date on 31st December. Oh well, early days, anything before Feb. is a bonus.

Season 7 is going to start later than usual. Hopefully that doesn't mean the Blu-ray set is also delayed.
