Yeah, March this year. This is a much better release date, & they'll get the Christmas present market now.

Highly doubtful it will come out on November 21st as indicated on the first post. Historically, the previous sets were released between February and March.

Edit: I think the OP based the date from Amazon.co.UK's GoT S6 product page. Amazon has long since removed it.

It is possible that it will be released in February/March like the other seasons.
However it wasn't just Amazons placeholder that had the 21st November release date. In April Zavvi also put up a placeholder which also had the November release date but they removed the placeholder a week or two later. Maybe one went up incorrectly and the other copied it or they both got that release date from the same place but shouldn't have put the placeholders up.

Anyway both options are a possibility until Warner/HBO tell us the release date.

David Benioff and DB Weiss had previously hinted that they are “heading into the final lap” of the fantasy show. Now, in a post-season six finale interview with Deadline, the duo have said that 13 episodes remain, lending credibility to rumours that season seven will feature seven episodes and season eight just six. Fans have become accustomed to ten episodes per season, with each episode reportedly boasting a budget of $10 million.

Sucks, but maybe this could be one of the reasons for changing the release schedule this year.

Maybe both season 7 and 8 will air next year?

Maybe season 7 will start in January with 7 episodes, and therefore they'll release season 6 this november?

Season 8 could start end 2017 or maybe January 2018?

So, something like this:

11.2016 Season 6 - BluRay
11.2017 Season 7 - BluRay
11.2018 Season 8 - BluRay
11.2018 COMPLETE SET (right in time for Christmas)

I was wondering why the IMDB only had seven episodes listed for season seven. It all makes sense, they had to wrap it up sometime, & I didn't think they'd go past season seven. The nightmare scenario is that HBO pulls the plug & it just stops, but it sounds like they have it all planned out, which is good news.

The main cast have had to turn down multi-million dollar films and will be receiving massive pay increases for the last 2 seasons to compensate. I think that's got as much to do with reduced seasons as anything. Especially given Season 5 and 6 had plenty of padding and HBO didn't reduce those seasons.

I feel the opposite. The last season in particular seemed to really up the pace - sometimes a bit too much for my liking. In the past characters would take a couple of episodes or sometimes half a season travelling long distances and in this season it's happening in the same episode so weeks are going by at a time.

Season 5 is probably the slowest season but then I didn't find any of it padding or filler. Every scene has importance. I think that season was a bridge and a bit of a breather from what came before and after.
