Terminator 3 (1080i Only?) - Blu-ray Forum

ok...my g/f bought me T3 on blu ray.....i run all my blurays on my ps3 too my xbr4 and all of them play at 1080P/24....well when i hit display on my tv like i do on all my movies to make sure they play in 1080p...well with t3 is it says its 1080i....what gives?

please someone lend me some help...i just exchanged it at kmart for their last copy and it does the same thing....i just tried another blu ray to make sure my ps3 didnt mess up...but it ran at 1080p/24....the t3 still runs at 1080i on the exchanged one....

THAT"S CRAZY! I hope warner bros didn't give us a duplicate of the hd-dvd version, lol. Actually not very funny.

No it is in 1080p, prolly just a goof, kind of like they did on Pirates 3

When I first got my bdp s1 it said 1080 i as well. I had to manually change the output via the menu of the player.

I know there were a few threads about this, but its been 2 weeks since Warner aknowledged this malfunction. I bought my T3 BD copy from Best Buy on 01/01/07 and I played it on my PS3 a few minutes ago. I played parts of the the IME part, and parts of the actual movie w/out IME PiP, both appear to be 1080P.

The problem is that both my PS3 and my Denon 3808CI receiver will upconvert everthing to 1080P. So how the heck would I know if the movie is playing in 1080P or 1080i? I am tryig to avoid disconnecting the PS3 from the Receiver and connecting directly to the TV, plus I think my Mitsubishi DLP will upconvert everything to 1080P as well, I might be mistaken about the TV part.

Does anyone know if Warner is still shipping the original defective copies, or have they recalled all of them from retail stores over the past 2 weeks? Should I just call Warner and get it replaced anyways? Both versions of the movie (with and without IME PiP) appear to be 1080P. Any idea whether if Best Buy is still selling the defective copies and perhaps my Denon receiver is just upconverting it to 1080P?

Please advise...

I don't know for sure, but maybe there's a manufacturing number or version number on the disc or box so that you can tell them apart. Would seem practical to me.

Thanks dude..I am almost thinking of disconnecting my PS3 from the living room and testing it upstairs with my bedroom's Samsung TV because I know that, even thought its a 1080P LCD, it will not upconvert. I am still lookig for advise..if anyone knows for sure. Thanks for the help.

I have a 1080p / 1080i problem with HDscape's Visions of the Sea: Explorations. My PS3 (and the full HD TV) indicates 1080i during playback, but the cover art of the disc says 1080p. Any thing I can do to check...?

I keep checking the original WB messed-up-the-blu-ray-T3 thread to see if any new posts have been made as I still don't want to call WB if they don't have a game plan yet or as somebody had posted 'if they will even come up with one'. I would find it very disappointing if they just kinda say 'sorry 'bout that' and that's the end of it. Hopefully with the most recent announcement by them, they will take care of this and make it right. I also figure I will give it another couple of weeks before I just say 'screw it' and make my return to Besy Buy with info sheet in hand saying WB made it wrong and I didn't get what I paid for and that it's false advertising as the case says 1080p
