So, my local Wal*Mart decided a single side of an endcap just wasn't good enough. They now have, in addition to the 5x6 side cap, an entire section on the Tri-Shelf Island! Plus the ones on the New Release Island, AND on the New Release end-Cap!

I only saw ONE that I didn't have! there were a few I don't want.

They also have sales in-store that don't match the online price. I picked up Hacksaw Ridge for $17.99, when it was $24.99 last week.

Thanks OP!

I figured something was going on . They already had two full walls filled with 4k movies with another wall missing but already had the stickers placed. I am guessing they signed a contract to get them and box sets they are selling. Not really a big deals on them expect for the box sets. Guessing you could always price match.

Oh. I just assumed so because it was Walmart. Guess I have never really tried it.

My local Walmart your lucky to find more than 10 blu Rays on the walls. Mostly DVDs and a whole section devoted to low budget Latin titles.

Mine is about the same except redneck titles instead of Latin ones.

A local Wal-Mart near me was the same when I went in on Tuesday to pick up the Planet of the Apes multipack. They have an endcap stuffed with multipacks and new releases and one of the employees was just beginning to fill an entire side on a Tri-Shelf Island with additional UHDs. Wal-Mart must be seeing strong UHD sales to expand this quickly.

Correct. All of mine have signs that say "As of "Month" of 2016 Wal*Mart will no long be price matching competitors. Instead we have lowered prices on thousands of items store wide."

Which is a joke. No prices have been lowered.

Lucky! My local Walmart only has a few scattered 4Ks, can count the number on one hand

I'm in Canada though. It's a joke for physical media up here.

My hometown Walmart doesn't even sell 4K. I have to order them online or drive 45 miles to the closest town that does sell them.

Pittsburgh seems so small as cities go, but I'm not going to complain now.

My local Wal*mart started doing that effective June 12 of this year. Had signs at all the registers/self checkouts, etc. Cashier made it a point to tell me when I was price matching some of my groceries that I couldn't do that in a few days. I shot back "well, guess I'll be stopping off at your competitor up the road next week".

Funnier thing is, Fred Meyer (aka Kroger and the litany of US stores they run) has been willing to pricematch for me. Not sure if it's an official policy, but hey, I'd rather not feed the Walton family welfare system anymore than I have to.

Walmart price matches via their app now.

After purchase, you scan your receipt, and if a competitor has a cheaper price, you will be refunded the difference (in store credit) within 7 days.

I was corrected:

My local Walmart and Walmarts near the area no longer price match. Hopefully this Savings Catcher soon expands to more items.

It doesn't mention excluding Blu-rays!

I'm kidding! Wow! I really had no idea that it excluded that much stuff. That sucks.

I'll edit my original post.

Mine has a lot too, half an end-cap. So like 30 titles. I almost blind-bought Snitch yesterday but restrained myself. Also worth noting they sold out of John Wick 2, which is impressive. Throw in those cheap bundle packs they're doing and it's definitely worth dealing with Walmart's clientele to stop in and look every once in a while.
