HD DVD and Blu-ray Segment on the Today Show - Blu-ray Forum

They just ran a brief segment on the Today Show a few minutes ago this morning, handled by Al Roker. They didn't really offer any information other than noting that the two formats were available and they were high definition.

As expected, with Universal being the parent company of NBC, Blu-ray was only briefly mentioned as the 'more expensive' rival format that was 'mostly for gamers' as opposed to HD DVD which is a more 'consumer oriented, mass market format'.

Sheesh..the probably didn't even "disclose" such information did they? LOL mostly for gamers. Kill your Television!

Well, Al Roker did briefly mention that Universal, which was sponsoring some sort of traveling HD DVD promotional tour was the parent company of NBC, but it occurred so quickly, it was very easy to miss. It certainly wasn't stressed.

hopefully Fox will do something smart in response. as much political propoganda they spew, there should be no problem with a little technological plugging...
