RPO will win the weekend, but Acrimony and GND 3 could do solid business.

I had never even heard of Acrimony until this thread.

Trailer makes it look like a movie I wouldn't go see, but one I would probably enjoy one it's on Netflix or HBO or Prime. Looks like it could be fun.

Tyler Perry movies are basically all like that. For Acrimony, it could be a fun watch...perhaps after a few six packs of Sam Adams.
Luckily, theaters have bars in them these days, so if anyone gets dragged to this or if you and your friends are going to have a MST3K night at the movies,
it'll help. Just be sure to enjoy responsibly and have a designated driver or an cab on standby.

There's a God's Not Dead 3? Plus a Tyler Perry presents movie? And In the same week?

Acrimony, I'll watch just for Taraji (love her). Looks like fun entertainment (although the script SCREAMS Lifetime)

God's Not Dead 3 can suck a fat one.

It looks like a Lifetime movie from the poster alone.

The first trailer for Acrimony is one of the most interesting ones I’ve seen lately. Doesn’t mean I’ll rush out to watch it, but marketing did a solid job with the trailer. I can see it pulling surprising numbers. $20M+ maybe? Looks to be more in the wheelhouse of Taraji P. Henson’s talents than Proud Mary.

It's also surprisingly well-shot and directed. It'll end up generic, but not terrible.

Yeah, I like her too. And that Crystle Stewart is crazy-hot.

I snuck into the first God's Not Dead and it was maybe the most brutal movie viewings I have ever sat through. Like, it literally had me walking out hating Christian people. It was such a low, such an insulting film.

I was blown away they made a sequel, and it boggles the mind a third was made. I never have the good patience to sit thru the second one.

I think Ready Player One could be some fun. Been waiting to see Tomb Raider with it, so fun to get to go back to the movies.

Is it me, or is the movie selection pretty awful this year? Looking at April, I have Avengers, Blockers and Super Troopers 2...that's it?

Nearly 1/4 of the year is over and I've only seen 6 films from 2018. Nothing is really making me want to run to the theater this year.

I can't blame you. As a Christian and after watching the movie and Brad Jones' review, it's terrible. Blatant pandering to Christians while the film-makers treat non-Christians like crap.

While Kevin Sorbo is the best thing about it, his character is just a generic *******. Dean Cain is an *******. Why? Because movie.

Ending has one of the biggest ****-you moments.
[Show spoiler]Sorbo got hit by a car and converts to Christianity AS he dies. What?

January and February were two of the deadest months I've seen in a while, but March and April have me at the theaters every weekend.

April I'm planning on: A Quiet Place, Blockers, Truth Or Dare, Super Troopers 2, Traffik, and maybe Rampage. Also excited for Lean On Pete and The Rider, assuming they open here.

GND grossed $60 million which in the faith based circuit, that's Marvel-esque money.
As for the current movie selection thus far, it hasn't been a total wash.
I've seen a few that I liked but overall Jan and Feb are usually dead months at the movies with a few bright spots here and there. (Game Night is one of those bright spots.)

I'm focusing more on A Quiet Place, Super Troopers 2, Traffik and Rampage while Blockers looks to be pure garbage and I can't truly explain what's the deal with Truth Or Dare.
I'm hoping Traffik will deliver because it looks far superior to that idiotic Breaking In, which opens the following month.

A Quiet Place looks phenomenal. As long as you get the perfect audience that's quiet, sweet.

Truth Or Dare looks horrendous.

I'm going in the morning for A Quiet Place for sure. Quiet theater and bargain pricing. Can't be beat. Plus, I love that the run time is under 90 mins with credits.

PR2 with a pathetic $2.1 million on Monday...this one will drop a ton (domestic) in weekend #2.
