Really excited for this. I love a good, bloody revenge movie. Especially with a bad-ass female lead. Looks very stylish. It's currently 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

You and me both. I was so excited when I saw that the other day. Sure it would flop but I'd love to see it on the big screen.

Looks more like a remake of an old Ozploitation flick called Fair Game.

Just looked that up on IMDB and though they didn't have a trailer they had pics and, yeah, it does look a lot like it. At least from the limited information I have so far.

I actually liked it. Not perfect, by any means, just a simple, enjoyable thriller.

This movie was the most unrealistic P.O.S garbage I have seen so far all year.

Makes you question if these critics are:

1. getting compensated by the studio to praise this.
2. are watching a different version than us.
3. are too easily impressed.
4. smoking the good kind before watching it.

First, the girl pretty much insinuated the whole rape with

Second, who the f**k

[Show spoiler]survives a 100ft drop on a rocky desert and does not break their f**king back when landing on some thick tree branch and getting profoundly stabbed?

Also, the fact that she was impervious to pain. GTFO!

Lame ass movie. Let’s not forgot the stupid cliches to top it off. The only thing I loved was the cinematography, there were some unique shots in this.

Just came back from watching this. TBH I don't understand most of the negative comments about the film. Based on the trailer, I was expecting a good, exploitative, B-movie told from a woman's perspective (both filmmaker and character) and that is what I got. What were people expecting?

The film for me was very tense and very violent, and just when you think it cannot get more tense or brutal/bloody, it keeps pushing both to the point that it is almost unbearable. One of the settings in the film starts off with light-colored walls and by the end both the walls and the characters, that are still alive, are pretty much completely soaked in the red stuff. The acting was good all around. Directing was good also. Nothing amazing but very competent nonetheless. Like others have said, the cinematography makes full use of the sun-drenched desert, and for someone who does not particularly like desert locations, it even makes it look attractive at times. The film does not push believability more than other similar films so it's interesting to read comments about it.

And BTW, I did just watch the comments video posted on the first page and they definitely sound sexist. The film is far from a masterpiece but I never got the feeling that it was trying to be so. It was definitely entertaining and one of the better films in the sub-genre (revenge for a crime involving rape and attempted murder). Granted, those films do not set the bar very high, but again, I don't think this film was trying to be more than an entertaining exploitation film, and that is what we got. B for me.

I was also reading comments on IMDB with some users saying that this was made for a gay-men audience because one of the male characters is completely naked for a good portion of the film. What's interesting is that if it had been the girl who was naked for a longer period of time then it would have gotten little-to-no comments about it (I've been watching and reading reviews for more than ten years now so it is not hard to see that disparity). It is definitely a double standard and it is disappointing to notice this. I'm not saying the film needed nudity (I personally think nudity only adds to films when it demonstrates something important, like in 12 Years a Slave in which some of the slaves are nude to show the degradation they were forced to endure), but the fact that it leads to negative comments when 99% of the time it doesn't if it's nude women in film, does solidify that there's a double standard.

Anyway, I liked the film and while not perfect I do not think it deserves such negative comments. And now seeing the comments here, and in other websites, I do think a good portion of them will be from sexist people that felt uncomfortable while watching the film.

Recommended if you can stomach the violence and adult subject matter.

I mean, come on!

[Show spoiler]We had lingering shots of Matilda in lingerie, or skimpy clothing (even after her near death, her butt is still nicely apparent), and she was nude briefly, BUT a man fully nude is a problem?

Why can't the people watch the movie without making predictable comments and just take Lutz' eye candy?
