Yes, HBO doesn’t distribute this on blu-ray. However, all of their drama series get blu-ray releases. It’s the comedy shows they tend to stop releasing.
It’s nothing new for HBO shows. GoT Season 5 got a summer release on digital and the blu didn’t come out until March. It’s only changed for the last two seasons because of seasons 7 and 8 coming out much later.
Isn't it pretty much the same thing as Warner owns HBO?
They are all part of the same corporate family, but they are kept as completely different entities with virtually no cross over.
Personally I had my issues with Season 2 but I think the majority of them came from having to wait a week in between each episode so I would forget little nuisance moments that became important much later on. However, it does contain two hours of some of the best television I have ever seen so I'm excited to eventually pick up the 4k release and binge the weekend before season 3 starts (which will probably be 2020 at this point).
Note the press release states the Atmos track will be on both the 4K and regular BD. The actual final physical product has a DTS Master 5.1 track on BD. I don't have Atmos (or 4k) but can't help but feel a little cheated
Curious if anyone has received their shipment from Amazon? The listing shows what appears to be the Aussie release. I preordered as soon as it went live and it didn’t have that image. Just noticed it, last night. Hopefully it’s just a site error.

I got the 4k this morning. Can't speak to Blu-ray.

Yeah I received both the wide 4k and 4k steelbook, but was curious what this looked like. Thankfully it was the US wide released packaged in a nice digipak.
The Target bonus disc is a Blu-ray. It is 25+ minute round table with combinations of Jeffrey Wright, James Marsden, Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Rodrigo Santoro, Simon Quarterman, Angela Sarafyan, Luke Hemsworth, Ben Barnes, Leonard Nam and Ptolemy Slocum. Broken into 5 sections:
