Pioneer Blu-Ray Player In-Store - Blu-ray Forum

Hey guys I figured i'd give you an update as I haven't posted on here in a long while because we've been crazy busy at work and so i've had little free time to come and browse the forums. We are going to be recieving in the next week a production version of the Pioneer Elite Blu-Ray player and we will be hooking it up to a PRO-FHD1 1080p Pioneer Elite Plasma. So if any of you live in the Monterey Area you should really stop by and check it out. I'll be posting a full review with opinions in the next few weeks for you guys to check out.

This player is still not for sale but will be out in time for the christmas season.

Its in the store now and it looks amazing. Very rich color and looks fantastic fed right to the PRO-FHD1 1080p Pioneer Elite panel. So far we have watched Tears of the Sun on it and the demo disc that pioneer sent along with it. Both looked amazing. Our player because its pre-production only outputs 2 channel pcm no surround sound at all. The player runs fairly warm. The remote is an old clunker. But video and audio quality is superb. color accuracy is very very good as is resolution and overall picture detail.

This is "THE" BD player to get. I just have a feeling that it's going to be head and shoulders above all else. You'll pay for the privledge but you will love it.

I'm sure that excellent plasma has something to do with the great picture. Originally they weren't going to support advanced audio codecs, I wonder if that has changed now that they keep on delaying the damn thing.
