Did anyone see the new restoration this year? I see it played a Visconti Retrospective in New York in June among other festivals.

I envy you, thanks for the info, it must have been a sublime experience, i am particularly interested in "The Damned", i'm sure that the restoration (made 4 years ago) has been played in that retrospective but it's impossible to find any info on the restoration at all, what was the quality and the experience at the theater?
Do you know if it was a 2k or 4k scan?i hope that with the restored material a release may be taken in consideration by CC...i hope very much

The Damned is a L’Immagine Ritrovata restoration from 2008/2009. It was restored by l’Institut Lumière and La Cinémathèque de Bologne.

Unless you're talking about another.

Nothing too official has been announced, just the restoration presented by Criterion.

AlexIlDottore, watch these comparision images of WB dvd and the new restoration...
If these are the "official colors" you were absolutely right about the yellow problem...
Like i said before and to anoter user on the CC forum I will catch a screening of Death in Venice in Bologna on the first days of September... if these are the "official colors" i'm a bit less excited to be honest...but at least it's on the big screen...what do you think about that?
Would you miss a screening if you had the chance?
I hope CC will regrade it...
I will also ask detailed info about the 2010 restoration of the Damned...

Don't like the cover. I hope the film doesn't look yellow.

Here are the caps from Criterion's site, which give a rough idea of what the colors will be on the disc:

I love the book but I'm unfamiliar with the movie.

Is it a literal adaptation? other than the change from the main being a writer to a composer?
