I envy you, thanks for the info, it must have been a sublime experience, i am particularly interested in "The Damned", i'm sure that the restoration (made 4 years ago) has been played in that retrospective but it's impossible to find any info on the restoration at all, what was the quality and the experience at the theater?
Do you know if it was a 2k or 4k scan?i hope that with the restored material a release may be taken in consideration by CC...i hope very much

The Damned is a L’Immagine Ritrovata restoration from 2008/2009. It was restored by l’Institut Lumière and La Cinémathèque de Bologne.

Unless you're talking about another.

I wonder if this will prompt a release of Ken Russell’s response film, Mahler. I know Criterion at least had the rights at some point.

I saw a version with the Janus and CC logo...my most hoped release in any case remains the Damned...for the main reason that a good blu ray edition of Mahler exists today (from JP)
Do you know about that?

I am unnable to find out if this is 2K or 4K. Just keep in mind that it was done in 2008 or 2009, and not 2014 as you posted.

I never saw it when it was screened in 2009.

L’Immagine Ritrovata are legendary for making restorations with a yellow tint and bad black levels.

You are right about that, the article i read was from 2011 not 2014 (https://www.rapportoconfidenziale.org/?p=17172)but maybe the restoration is olden as you say.
A great scan definition has not to be excluded, what do you think?
I hope this is one of the titles tha CC acquired from Warner and nobody knows anything...
I heard about this problems you mentioned only about 2 movies restored by them...nex time i will be more focused if it's all right, if i can

Do you think so about their work? i had some voice about that on only two movies restored by them...i will stay more focused on this aspects the next time
No problem 2008/2009, 4K scans were being done, but not at the rate that they are being today.

When I think of L'Immagine Ritrovata, I think of terrible restoration work.

Their Sergio Leone restorations are an insult. Their gialli restorations usually have to be regraded once they're handed to Arrow, Koch Media or Camera Obscura. Unfortunately however, not all of them are regraded.

Only for curiosity, one half off topic:
1)What is so one the greatest labels in the restoration field?
2)Do you think a blu ray of The Damned will be coming soon?
I thik that Death in Venice is practically certain...based on the Some like it hot case
