Default Suggestions for 1st Blu-ray MOVIE

im stoked, finally pulled the trigger and got a 80g ps3 directly from sony. by the way, they give you 100$ off if you open a sony card, so i got it for 400, free shipping. awaiting my 5 free in the mail, i was wondering what you guys would recommend as the first title in the blu-ray collection.

That really depends on what kind of movies you enjoy watching. Below are a list of a few movies that i really enjoy that also look and sound beautifully on blu ray.
  1. Casino Royale
  2. Pirates of the Caribbean (Trilogy)
  3. Disney's Cars
  4. Live free or Die Hard

300, or Pirates: At World's End. The third Pirates movie is the first BD I watched that had a scene that I thought "Popped" off my T.V. It blew my mind. If you like animated movies, pretty much any Pixar BD, or Meet The Robinsons, really ANY Buena Vista release.

Shoot 'Em Up was great if you are into mindless action flicks, and Live Free or Die Hard was wonderful too. Still pretty much a mindless action flick, but not nearly as ridiculous as Shoot 'Em Up!

Casino Royale and Apocalypto both look excellent. Any Disney/Pixar animation is also superb. Personally, one of my favorites is 3:10 to Yuma - excellent pq and aq. I also liked The Day After Tomorrow, but really it's what you like that will matter. Check out the reviews here to see how pq and aq rate and that will also help you decide, I think.

Welcome!!

It all depends on your taste.

The Lives of Others
Pan's Labyrinth
The Prestige
Corpse Bride

Really, just pick out a film that you really like and want to see in high def.
