Q: Why are there DVDs on this Blu-ray List?
A: So when the Blu-rays are released instead of having to shift the entire list to put them where they go I just have to change the DVD to the Blu-ray.
Just think of the DVDs as placeholders until the Blu-rays are released.

I fear that the "announcement" of a Blu-ray of LOVING YOU won't happen. The announcement was made about a year ago, by a small label that was somehow connected to Twilight Time.

I was looking forward to this too. One of my favorites.

I want blu-rays of LOVING YOU in VistaVision and KING CREOLE.

Elvis was a seriously good actor in both films

LOVING YOU is one of the best color films of the 1950s. It has that rockabilly atmosphere and
style and looks like a museum of period wardrobe and artifacts. It's a solid drama, too.


KING CREOLE has been shown in the full negative's aspect ratio 1.37-1 on television for 50 years
or longer. People are used to it. But the theatrical aspect ratio was 1.85-1. When the time comes
to put KING CREOLE on blu-ray I hope it will have both ratios. Also, I hope Alan K. Rode is invited
to do the commentary. He wrote the massive, comprehensive biography of director Michael Curtiz
and he knows more about the making of KING CREOLE than anyone else.

What a handy thread! Browsing through the releases, I Just realised I've forgotten to buy the blu ray of "Love Me Tender"... Can't believe I missed that one! Absolutely will be my next purchase, six and a half years after it was released!

Definitely won't be snoozing when King Creole gets released in March. Bring on the pre-order!
