I might still buy this eventually for the collection, but it would have to be at a VERY cheap price. I'd say $5.

Yes, that's how bad it was. There's going to have to be something truly horrifying to come out later on this year to be able to top this travesty and I just don't think anything will. This new movie was so haphazardly edited, poorly written, terribly acted, and was all cliche jump scares with no actual suspense or tension. It also wasn't written for a person who has never seen the other movies despite it just being called The Grudge, it completely changed the rules of Kayako and Toshio, and one of the cops must be a JHorror fan to know everything going on is a Japanese curse.

What I hated about the trailers was that they constantly faked you out by making you think that the ghost seen throughout the film was Kayako. Talk about false advertisement.

I'll be passing on this one. (The same with 2019's Black Christmas.

) I was underwhelmed by the film. It's amazing how much scarier the 2004 film was/is and it's rated PG-13 whereas the new film is rated R. The Grudge 2 (2006) and The Grudge 3 (2009) are much better films than The Grudge (2020).

all the ghost scenes in the trailer (girl crawling on the wall, hair coming out of the sink, "Kayako" crawling under the bed) weren't in the movie. So stupid.

To be fair, it’s rather common that some scenes in the trailer don’t make the final cut. Hopefully they’re in the deleted scenes though.

I didn't like the original and besides Sarah Michelle Gellar is a terrible actress. Generally, ghost stories are boring and they're not scary.

I know but thats a lot of scenes that weren't in the movie and it made the climax so uneventful.
