Default Petition for Blu-ray add-on for the Xbox 360

I know a lot of people here hate Microsoft and the XBox 360. But a Blu-Ray add-on for it would rock, why not? Make Microsoft's dream of digital downloads falter for a little while longer

There is absolutely no way you could ever get me to sign that crap. Anything that Microcrap touches turns to "crap" eventually.

NO THANK YOU!!!!!!!

I believe they said it was 'something they'd have to consider'. Phrasing it that way doesn't mean they're really forced to do anything.

When this thing is all said and done, a lot of our old adversaries are going to be on our team.

That medicine may do down awful, but it's critical for our health. Remember, the next big battle is Blu-ray vs. SD. And having an increased blu-ray installed base (on X-box) won't hurt!

Here's what M$ might say, "as a result of us backing HD DVD, which has just lost the format war, we hereby, make our announcement on shifting our focus on only doing hi-def downloads as the perfect choice for consumers, as it is what is best for the future". Thats my predection on how M$ will go after BD has won.

This quote was shutdown by Bill Gates, and some other higher up person at Microsoft.
They are too proud of their HDi crap to give in to Blu-ray.

I would rather they spend the money on ironing out all the current existing problem with the XBox 360 to begin with. That platform is too flawed for me to even begin thinking about using it as a console, let alone a possible Blu-ray media outlet.

You can't expect much from Macrohard.

I, for one, would like more people to buy PS3s. With Microsoft making a Blu-ray add-on to the xbox360, there will be one less reason to buy the PS3. Thats bad ...very bad. The PS3 is a superior game console and it needs as much support possible.

Microsoft can take their sweet time in releasing a Blu-ray add-on. The longer, the better for the PS3.

Lol well hey its the truth and the Xbox 360 is a perfect example. How many people suffered because of the ring of death? How many people suffered when Xbox 360 first came out and it had all of those viruses inside messing it up and overheating the Xbox 360? Have these happened to the PS3? No way

360 doesn't deserve a BD add-on. Go buy a PS3.

No matter how many signatures this petition gets (I certainly am NOT signing it ), SONY will NOT give away one of their BIGGEST competitive advantage to Microsoft's RROD CRAPBOX360. One of the biggest reasons SONY and the BDA won this war is the PS3. The BDA is not about to backstab the PS3 in the back.

You can FORGET about this as it will NEVER happen.

I don't know. I'm sure Panasonic and Samsung aren't all too happy that the PS3 makes up the extreme majority of Blu-Ray players. If Panasonic licenses Microsoft to release a Blu-Ray player which is made from Panasonic (like the HD DVD drive was a Toshiba) well that would be great for Panasonic. Sony doesn't deserve a monopoly on HD no matter how much they really really want it.

Although it is interesting to see the irrational hatred of Microsoft on this board.

Consoles have always and will continue to exchange "top spot" over time. Formats on the other hand are decided and left unchanged for years until a new one comes along. At the very least, a Blu-ray drive will help people see the difference between a format war and a console one (for those worried, we're only talking movies here - MS will still have issues for limited game capacity down the road). Microsoft would be a huge help for Blu-ray!
