Default XBox 360 Blu-ray Player Add-on (Opinion)

I am sure most people here on this forum would agree that Microsoft is probably already working on their successor to the 360, but until news of this is confirmed, its just speculation.

Anyways, this brings me to my next point. Given that the industry is shifting their resources to Blu-ray, it would only be natural for Microsoft to also support a Blu-ray Player add-on to the 360 since the HD-DVD add-on probably is not going to go anywhere anytime soon.

I believe a certain percentage (those w/out hate towards SONY) of 360 owners are waiting for the price of the PS3 to reach a "warrant price point" before they shell out the bucks for one so that they too can experience true 1080p HD, Blu-ray, and PS3 gaming. However, if Microsoft does release the BLu-ray add-on, I believe they will have the misconception of thinking that the Blu-ray add-on is adequate for their HD movie watching experience and that the games on the 360 are good enough to suite their gaming needs.

Now, if Microsoft does develop a Blu-ray add-on to the 360, what do you guys think that will do to the sales of the PS3?

see, the only thing I think you're wrong on... well, YOU'RE not wrong. Is the 360 gamers complaining about ps3 prices. Am I the only one that thinks about this? the "pro" system right now sells for $349.99. the 40GB ps3 starts at only $50.00 more. That's not even enough to buy one game with for the 360. why not just go with a ps3? I just dont think people realize it as much as they could if they really thought about it. But I'm sure some people have had 360's for a while and just dont have the money for a new ps3. and I'm sure they would buy a blu drive for $200 or under. It's only the sissy basement fanboys we need to worry about.

Yes, BD Player Add-on on Xbox 360 with HDMI/USB combo!

No, BD Player Add-on on Xbox 360 will boost sale.

Neither, XBox 360 should failed.

I thought there's already so many of these kind of threads already?

It's all over the forums.

360 Blu-ray add-on. I've seen others make this poll already on here.

It's just the mods move them around I believe, or it's been buried by other topic.

My opinion? I guess I don't really care.

I've read time and again that Bill Gates and Microsoft DO NOT wish to support Blu Ray. When you think about everything the PS3 already has built into it, the BD player, wireless internet, etc, it is far cheaper in the long run to buy the PS3 outright. Most who bought the 360 only support MS, who in turn support digital downloads. So I don't see them offering the Blu Ray add-on, continuing support of hd dvd until they can perfect their downloads. They also think that a dvd-rom is "good enough" for their games. Even if they do release the add on for Blu Ray, I doubt it will go over well.

Yeah. That would be like GM using Honda engines.

Oh wait.

In all seriousness, I highly doubt MS would ever do this, either. They'll continue to insist that digital downloads are the wave of the future, and we'll all laugh and go, "OK, makers of MS Bob."

The ONLY thing that makes me think otherwise is that MS doesn't innovate ANYTHING. They blatantly "re-engineer" and/or buy out any company that may threaten their "ideas". So, if their project planners somehow felt Blu was a necessary component, or valued its storage capacity for optical media, you'd see native BD support in the next service pack for Vista, and possibly see an adaptation in the new open Xbox 360's that are rumored to be in development.

Everyone keeps quoting Haze as some kind of awesome game, when no one here has played it. Motorstorm, Resistance and Warhawk are all awesome. We can assume MGS4 will be awesome based on the previous, but of Haze no one can make that claim. Haze cant be doing too well if it was delayed to 2008, and now again to end of 2008.
