The mods posted an article late last year that told us MGM was going on Hi Def hiatus for the rest of the year (and prolly into this year early). So, now that the war is about over, I suspect that MGM will get with it again since Warner made its decision.

i like to see all the movies that are available to me, and I figured I would just put this list here so people that read the thread would know just what is out and what to anticipate. Movies by MGM and sister/partner companies. In no random order, and from my bias (not all horror movies etc...)

Out on blu: The Terminator, Usual Suspects, Flyboys, the Last Waltz, Mr. Brooks, Rocky, Windtalkers, Species, Hoosiers, and Hart's War.

Hits to anticipate80's and back) Gone with the Wind, Wizard of Oz, Singing in the Rain, 2001 a Space Odyssey, Ben-Hur, Raging Bull, Swamp Thing, Escape from New York, For Your Eyes Only, Rocky (movies), Octopussy, Never Say Never Again, A View to A Kill, Platoon, Princess Bride, Spaceballs, The Living Daylights, Eight Men Out, Bull Durham, Child's Play, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Rain Man, Weekend at Bernies, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, When Harry Met Sally, License to Kill, UHF, Little Monsters, All Dogs Go to Heaven.
(90's): Dances With Wolves, Le Femme Nekita, Robocop 2, Navy Seals, Men at Work, Silence of the Lambs, City Slickers, Of Mice and Men, Get Shorty, Showgirls, Goldeneye, Fargo, Kingpin, Behind Enemy Lines, Hoodlum, Tomorrow Never Dies, Ronin, Magnificent Seven, Man in the Iron Mask, Thomas Crown Affair, The World is Not Enough, Hannibal, Die Another Day, Walking Tall, Hotel Rwanda, Lucky Number Slevin.

WimeTime, 2001: A Space Odyssey is out on blu now, by WB. Ronin was pushed back for a Father's Day promotion (along w/ some other titles), and Lucky Number Slevin was released on HD DVD last year by the Weinsteins.

I went to the mgm website and looked at their catalog... the 2001; a space odyseey was the old version, no the recent one, and all these movies were on there.

I looked at imdb.com, and MGM did handle the theatrical distribution. Regardless, it is out now, and it is the Stanley Kubrick-directed movie, so you do not have to wait for that one.

I would get Ronin from Japan, but I'm patient enough (ie. I've got too many movies I need to watch) to wait for its US release and not pay the extra shipping fee for getting it overseas.
