Kino Lorber have dated and detailed their upcoming Blu-ray release of Michael Gordon's film noir The Web (1947), starring Edmond O'Brien, William Bendix, Ella Raines, Vincent Price, John Abbott, and Maria Palmer. The release will be available for purchase on July 13.

It's not Double Indemnity and Criss Cross level noir, but it's more one of the great "B"-noirs, along the lines of The Narrow Margin, Crime Wave and I Walk Alone— though personally, I may like The Web the best out of those.

The Web is a movie I keep coming back to, despite the fact the plot is silly (or perhaps because of it).

But the picture has a certain charm to it, especially Vincent Price playing a very urbane and likeable baddie.

Absolutely not one of the all-time great noirs, but one I keep coming back to over and over again.

Can't wait to grab this Blu-Ray.

Watched this for the first time last night and it's a very enjoyable film noir. Not the best but not the worst either. Ella Raines was a quite a stunning lady.
