Was hoping their 50s title would be something that didn’t already have a great release.

Will be sticking with the Criterion, wish we were getting Double Indemnity instead.

I don't follow. You are not terribly thrilled about SLIH because it already has a great release but you want Double Indemnity which has got a great release already as well

. SLIH is one of those films which needs to be released in the best format possible.

I just blind bought the Criterion, but I'll watch it before this releases and see if it's one I'd like on 4K. Would love The Apartment on 4K! Arrow, where's it at?

I gave up on any Academy-like UHDs from Arrow after Academy folded.

Yeah, it's unfortunate about that. Maybe Criterion could make it one of their 4Ks in the future.

Oh, man. I hadn’t heard about that… My interest in Arrow releases started with the Arrow Academy line. Here’s hoping Kino and Criterion make up for this in the UHD front.

Same. "The Apartment" and "Double Indemnity" seem like safe bets for future UHDs. Everything else, that's within licensing, seem like a big maybe or slim. The Kino Lorber Insider had stated that they have UHD rights to "Irma la Douce" but aren't confident in an UHD release (I don't blame them) and they said they didn't obtain UHD rights for their renewal of "Witness for the Prosecution" because of the same reason for "Irma la Douce" (though they also said it is one of their better Blu sellers). Yeah, Arrow stated that they couldn't keep up with a consistent schedule for Academy and "Tales From the Urban Jungle" was the last Academy-branded release.

Kino should make Irma la Douce into a UHD. It probably won't be a heavy seller but I bet it will still do well, especially when you factor imports from outside the States thanks to the format being region free and it being the only UHD release worldwide were they to do it.

Arrow Academy was sublime and I'm quite sad that they're gone. The limited Dekalog set they released a few years back is an absolute crown jewel in my collection.
