Just got the update disc today took about 25 min to install no probs...Player works fine no freeze ups

You can download and burn them yourself. The S300 can use a CD for update. I'm religious about keeping my friend's and family's updated.

I'm dying for the next firmware in the 4.xx range.

It most likely will be more java tweaks, but that helps load times, so bring them on!

One thing is certain, it is too soon for Sony to stop supporting the BDP-S300. I can easily see it becoming a "classic".
