Slipcover or case damage due to workers opening the original case with an exacto and cutting too deep. I've kept my share of slightly dinged or damaged cases. But this one bothers me and I will always return it. This is the side that sits outward displayed on your shelf.

Yes.
We call them folks who do that; inbred expletive-slur. Is it really that hard to properly open a box? I assume their cousins must be the folks who use those grey/white trash bags for packaging.

I dislike it but I have never actually returned over a spine slice, while I have many times for dents and scratches. I guess this falls under scratch, but USUALLY these aren't deep enough to be super noticeable and I guess I care more about the front and back. I did recently get a DEEP one like yours pictured for DRAGONSLAYER, but because it's inside a cardboard slip, I didn't exchange because it'd be a mystery checking other copies since it is not visible without opening.


I was a bit let down when someone posted that they got a DRAGONSLAYER without a scraped edge on the slip from a local shop. I was unable to find such thing locally after going to several stores.

Looking forward to magnum pi from Amazon. got this cut across all 3 spines plastic and artwork yes it bothered me.

It would bother me, but IDK if I'd necessarily put in a return for something like that. Depends on my mood that day and how recently I'd put in a return. Smashed cases? 100% of the time. It's easily understood by a customer service person to be wrong and will usually automatically get you a replacement free of charge. A small-ish cosmetic scratch might get them thinking you're trigger-happy with returns.
