Default TRACKER (CBS Series - Justin Hartley)

Came across this show on Paramount+, and glad I gave it a try.

Watched both episodes so far last night, and this seems like a nice high-concept "comfort food" show like Scorpion or MacGyver. It doesn't hurt whatsoever that Hartley is just so pretty to look at, LOL.

I noticed it premiered after the Super Bowl and did crazy numbers - of course, the next week it was down by 2/3, but that's to be expected - still looks like it's doing higher numbers than similar shows of the past few years.

I really hope it sticks around - there is a lack of entertaining but easy-on-the-brain-I-want-to-wind-down shows these days.

It’s good so far though some of it feels a bit like Reacher. I’ve never read the books that Tracker is based on so I don’t know how close of an adaptation it is.

It’s very much a CBS show for sure.

I've watched the first two episodes and I've enjoyed it so far. Like the OP said, it's not a complicated show, but I've found it entertaining so far. I just hope it doesn't get to be repetitive.

The first one was incredibly generic & very blah, the second one was a bit more polished but intensely irritating for the most part (I have a problem with cults on tv or film, & also smug & clearly bad characters not getting punched in the face or told to go **** themselves) & I struggled to make it to the end.

I like Hartley & I'm a fan of Jeffery Deaver's Lincoln Ryhme books (not read any of the Shaw books yet) but this needs to improve massively for me to keep watching.

Can we bring back The Finder with Geoff Stults? It was kinda similar, but wayyyy more fun.

I felt like the second episode was way too easy to resolve. "Take me to the files. I now have the files. You're under arrest."

I agree - I liked the episode, but it was tied up way too quickly. I thought as soon as I finished watching it that it would have been better if they had saved that one for a two-parter later this season.

I was a little irritated that Paramount+ says "new episodes on Sundays" but it actually doesn't show up until Monday. Now that I know that, though, at least I know when to look for it.

I really like Hartley, and I do hope the show continues - it kind of fills that hole that Scorpion and then MacGyver filled.

Third episode was also resolved way too easily.

"I've been keeping a secret for all these months."

"You've been keeping a secret for all these months."

"I confess!"

I was expecting more complications at the end when the cops were called (& presumably the corrupt sheriff would turn up), but no, whatever happened happened offscreen & it just ended.

In Episode 4 (Mt. Shasta) Colter goes to a biker bar and the song that's playing in the bar sounds like an 80's hair band, Maybe Ratt but I couldn't hear it good enough to make out the song. Does anyone know the band/song that was playing?

Watched the first three episodes to see if it'd get better after the pilot... Nope.

Just a bit too dull, boring, predictable, and more of a soap opera than an actual series.

They're not even trying anymore. The lawyer, who I presume has her own job and her own life, shows up in St. Louis to join Colter? Also, the other three characters who are regulars, there's really not a whole lot for them to do, especially if one can cover the other's job.

It is weird she keeps popping up, no matter where he is in the country. Maybe she's just a traveling lawyer? Is that a thing? She must have a ton of air miles...

I'm not really too bothered by it TBH, as the chemistry between the two of them is probably the best thing about this show so far.

I've got to assume they're all much more fleshed out in the books (if indeed they exist in the books?). The two ladies who send him on jobs haven't really had much to do yet, but hey, you've gotta have a tech guy!

The horse episode was probably the best one, even if the hacker guy can find way too much information and the villain liked to talk too much and explain everything, but I guess that's to be expected with your typical TV shows.

They really need to find something more for the hacker and the couple to do, but I suppose work is work. Lawyer wasn't even in the episode.

The latest episode corrects two of these points.

Not sure it made much sense
[Show spoiler]- why not just tell the fight club guy that the fake lawyer was the one who owed him money & let him take it up with him?
& the ending did scream 'box ticking' (not a bad thing here, but it felt a little forced), but all in all, pretty good episode.

Agree that the horse episode has been the best one so far. Didn't know until later that the rival tracker was Hartley's wife!

Ya she was on Blood & Treasure.
