United Kingdom The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (Limited Edition 4K UHD) Arrow

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 4K Blu-ray

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 4K Blu-ray LE

Pre-order: Arrow - HMV

Quote:

In 1974, Tobe Hooper changed the face of horror with his landmark film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Though the hulking Leatherface left an indelible mark upon the cinematic landscape, it wouldn’t be until 1986 that the buzz came back… in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2!

Relocating the cannibalistic Sawyers to a cavernous labyrinth beneath an amusement park, Hooper’s deliciously demented sequel sees local DJ Stretch running afoul of them when she gets mixed up in the brutal slaying of two youngsters. Meanwhile, Lieutenant “Lefty” Enright is hell-bent on avenging the murder of his nephew Franklin, who perished in the original massacre.

Whichever way you skin it, Leatherface’s second cinematic outing is an uncompromisingly delirious vision from one of the masters of horror.

Should have a better encode (plus Dolby Vision) alongside has the two new visual essays.

However, I’m content with the Vinegar Syndrome LE that I’m in possession of.

I’m pretty content as well but I’m a sucker for those better encodes and beefy box sets.

Literally just got the Turbine Mediabook last week, which looks stunning in DV.

Interested to see how this looks in comparison.

I never picked up the VS release cause I hoped Arrow would do it at some point. My patience pays off again!

Ugh same here. I'm getting sick of buying these TCM films. That said, where is the 4K for the 2003 film already?

AQ Mode 2, high quantization level and average qcomp all combined together make for quite the combination

It has most (but not all) of the extras from the VS release. Should have a better encode too, so my holding off on it has paid off.

I think it’s just missing the following bonus features from Vinegar Syndrome's release, which are all on their first Blu-Ray disc:
Commentary with film critic Patrick Bromley
The Saw and the Savini
Leatherface Revisited
Beneath the Battle Land: Remembering 'The Lair'

It does port over the feature Arrow had on their previous release that remained exclusive to it ("Cutting Moments," which shares the same name as a newer interview). You would still need Disc 2 of Arrow's limited edition if you wanted Tobe Hooper's early works.

The 5.1 English remix which is on neither the VS or Arrow releases, and some other specifically German-related material (like the "German bootleg mix").

There's also a German-language commentary that's on Turbine's release, iirc.

So everyone thought the VS release was a reference disc until now.
