Cross play online and progression. I think they'll be well matched and balanced lol.

The local co-op sounds great though.

This exciting because PS5 players will give the online play life. The worst part of the new Gears is how quickly the multiplayer dies on Xbox.

Huh? The old games its very strong with the try hards and pro players... Can't comment on the new ones with a million game types... But you can hop on Gears UE and get a match in about a minute to this day, cant even find a ground war match in a cod game that was release last year let alone a 2015 game.

Pre-ordered, can’t wait to get 10,000 kills again.

I still jump on Gears 5 and play a few matches from time to time, no trouble finding games….plenty of people still playing.

I said it in another thread and I’ll repeat it here, almost 20 yrs later and nothing quite like the MP in Gears. Still some of the best. This will be the third time unlocking Seriously (if it’s included)….the original, the UE, and now this.

Unlikely to affect anyone here, this game has been canceled for PS5 in Japan; still releasing on all other announced platforms. Anyone else getting censored? I hear Australia and Germany can be pretty strict.

Microsoft announced on June 9 that Gears of War: Reloaded will not be launching on PlayStation 5 in Japan. According to a notice on Xbox Wire Japan, “regional rating restrictions and platform policies” are to blame for the cancellation.

Not sure about the germans but we've played scrims vs. Aussies and uk boys when it was competitive they'd play on our side and wed play on theirs... Never heard anything about edits or censorship...

I personally am looking forwards to playing it for the campaign if honest and seeing the story as well as hopefully selling well enough to have them release the rest too.

I haven't probably had a good MP game in a while but i have recently bought Helldivers 2 so might keep this on the radar until i basically am done with that. The launch price is £40 in the UK so pretty good.

This isn't the MP game to find enjoyable especially when they remake the 1st 1 for 1 and it's all us toxic tryhdrds on ....

This isn't even like cod or other games where they totally revamp it and you could maybe find an edge with new guns/playstyles maps... Like its just going to be the nerds who've been playing the maps and play style for 20 years lol


But like you said the story is still really good especially 1-3 (got a little weird 4 and 5) judgment story isn't the worst either

If i enjoy the mechanics and have half decent random fills, i don't think i mind a decent learning curve and of course my main motivation is just to finally experience the story of the game. Seeing trailers and some gameplay stuff i always liked the look of this and one of the few Xbox games that were exclusive i wanted to play tbh. Mass Effect 2 released after the first being exclusive and eventually came to PlayStation but still need to play that but i do want to see them release more if this sells well. Tbh, it might even be the sales being good which could lead to a proper remake even.

After this goes down to 29.99 or less, I'll give it a try on PS5. I figure if I waited all these years to play it, a couple more years won't hurt but it's great news for PS5 and gamers to finally get Gears of War remastered on PS5 this August 2025.

I think the reloaded might be more balanced especially early on with lots of new people/ first time ps exposure so might get some fair games.... Right now if you fired up Gears UE to get acclimated to movement, maps etc. it its nothing but hardcores playing on stacked teams..(I literally just saw a team and group of people I hadn't seen for 5 years on there now lol)

I haven't played since 2020 when we'd scrim with the e-sports guys and it was 24/7 tryhdrds (which is fine for me lol) but defiantly not a gauntlet I'd want someone to go into MP wise to come away feeling good about the series

Beta looks good basically just HDR and Dolby Gears of War UE with cross play and different in game menu not much additional wow factor other than the brightness is great


even the menus for settings are the exact same as UE was curious if there'd be advanced sensitivity or anything extra but its exact same as UE

Exactly the same literally 1 for 1... Even the spots we all know from 20+ years playing or the ones UE created all still work lol hard to tell about polish cause gears of war has its own unique BS factors where you could hard aim and shoot someone and not get them down lol so but seems the same as always

Nice to see so many new games I think I've seen one or two people I knew from UE in lobbies but tis 90% new faces so some fairer comp for new people vs. if you just bump into the elite try hards running stacked teams and spawn trap you.


Looks like some new menu features and the HDR settings brightness all new but like overall the guts are 100% UE polished up with cross play
