Title Characters With Too Little Screen Time

Oftentimes, when a movie shares a title with the name of one of the movie's characters, that character gets a lot of screen time. But there are a few exceptions to this rule.
Here are a few movies where the title character got very little screen time:

"The Bride Of Frankenstein" (1935)-She's only on screen for about a minute. And she doesn't really say or do anything, she just screams once.

"The Wizard Of Oz" (1939)-We don't see this so-called wizard until the last few minutes. And all he does is give Dorothy, The Tin Man, The Scarecrow and The Cowardly Lion pseudo-awards and tell them they already had the character qualities they believed they lacked. Then he took off in a hot air balloon. It was Glinda who helped Dorothy get back home in the end.

I mean its true he's not actually onscreen that much in the original yet I think it probably suits the film well for it to be so.

And the movie's running time was 92 minutes, so I think you have a valid reason to complain.

People made the same compliant about Princess Aurora in the 1959 Disney movie "Sleeping Beauty". She only got 18 minutes of screen time in a 75-minute movie, and only 18 lines of dialogue.

I think he got the perfect amount of screen time. I’m just saying that his screen time is still limited despite the film named after him.

Even if you didn't see the shark, you still saw what the shark was doing. You looked through the shark's eyes as it swam up towards Chrissie, and saw it bite Chrissie and drag her from side to side. Then you saw it swim towards the little boy and pull him underwater, and you saw the little boy struggling to get free while his blood rose to the surface. So I strongly disagree with your statement that the shark only got five minutes of screen time.

One of the finest examples of less is more. I wish Jaws 2 showed more restraint. I'm sure most would agree that the scenes that worked best in J2 was when the shark was implied.

I agree. That's true for "Jaws 2", the original "Jaws", "Alien", and many other movies.
