I mean its true he's not actually onscreen that much in the original yet I think it probably suits the film well for it to be so.

Godzilla is such an odd one because in every one of the Monsterverse movies (indeed most Godzilla movies PERIOD) he generally has anywhere from 8-12 minutes of screen time. It blows my mind that he's only on screen in Godzilla King of the Monsters for like one (MAYBE two) more minute compared to Godzilla 2014 yet....it feels like he's in KOTM sooo much more. It's all about how it's distributed I guess..

You could say Darth Maul was the Phantom Menace in Episode I Star Wars, but he's hardly in the movie till the last act fight scene and only makes brief 30 second or less appearances. But that's true for Sidious too. He only makes brief appearances in his cloak robes.

People made the same compliant about Princess Aurora in the 1959 Disney movie "Sleeping Beauty". She only got 18 minutes of screen time in a 75-minute movie, and only 18 lines of dialogue.

To be fair though he's a "horror monster" really and that kind of screen time isnt that usual, it can often be much less.

I would say as well the film being just over 90 mins is probably a reason you don't see more of him, with that relatively short runtime its generally quite bias towards setup and he doesn't appear at all until close to a half hour in.

I think he got the perfect amount of screen time. I’m just saying that his screen time is still limited despite the film named after him.
