Question what display can accept+display 1080p

I was at my brother's house and his supposed 1080p JVC hdila couldn't accept the 1080p feed from the BDP-S1 it could only accept 1080i. So what tv's out now or soon next year can accept and display 1080p? Not 1080i upconverted to 1080p?

There are lots of TVs on the market now that take 1080p and display it. What technology are you looking at? That would help us help you narrow a set down.

I think I like the lcd over dlp, so I'm thinking about the sxrd if it can accept 1080p and display it. You know I just don't want a display that takes a 1080p image and can only handle 1080i through hdmi, then reconverts it back to 1080p. Is hdmi 1.3 just for recievers or will there be tv's out next year that will have 1.3 inputs on them? Will there be a noticeable difference on a 1.3 tv vs. a 1.2? What kind of crap is coming out in the next 6 mo. that would be worth the wait over ....say March or April of next year?

CES is in a few weeks. I wouldn't buy anything right now until that show is done, at this rate.

My Mitsubishi Diamond Series WD-57831 accepts 1080p at 24, 30 fps and 60hz.

Vick Vega, was you brother using the HDMI cable? If his TV is 1080P, the Sony BDP-S1 will only output 1080p through that cable. You also need to use the HMDI for DVD upconverting with the Sony.
