Default Keyboard and mouse support?

I don't suppose if I felt like setting myself up where I wanted to play something like Resistance: Fall of Man with KBM it would be as simple as me plugging those into two of the USB slots on the PS3 and being off to the races, would it?

Sadly, I see no KBM mapping options.

When I get a chance here, I'm just going to plug 'em in and see what happens. I don't think it can harm anything.

Hmm...should be interesting.

BTW, what are you guys using for headsets? I don't recall seeing an official headset from Sony (except for the PS2 headsets).

blutooth headsets work with ps3 games like resistance.

I use a keyboard for Internet browsing and typing messages in Resistance. I use a standard Logitech USB headset for voice communication. Does anyone know if Ridge Racer or madden are voice chat enabled?

Default Keyboard/Mouse for PS3

For those of you who are looking for a slim keyboard to pair with your PS3, I have a suggestion: BestBuy carries Rocketfish bluetooth keyboard/mouse combo for $49.99. A pretty good deal for such a combo. I got one yesterday. As soon as I inserted the USB BT adapter into the PS3 the keyboard and mouse were instantly recognized. Of course, none of the programmable buttons work.
Here's a link to the manufacturer's web site: http://www.rocketfishproducts.com/pc...cal-mouse.aspx
Sony must work on providing better support for accessories like this.

I bought this

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1124432186514

The keyboard is super slim and flat and I like the look of it better than the rocketfish.

Stupid question, why do you need a BT/USB adapter, the PS3 IS BT enabled.

Because the PS3 doesn't have support for BT keyboard and mouse. As far as I know only BT headsets can pair up with the PS3.

In games? Not yet, but I was under the impression that you could pretty much plug any USB device in there and at least have it function in the dashboard and for typing messages, using the Internet, and things of that nature. Bluetooth, especially, should work just fine.

There is no "in game" mouse and keyboard support though. At least not yet.

Can anyone spot check me on all this?

Correct. At this point the only BT natively supported by PS3 are BT BD Remote and headset. A combo like the one listed above gives you a USB (supported) interface with the convenience of a BT ease of use and range.
