Bluetooth keyboards and mice are nice, but the drawback is that they are not supported (yet) if you plan to also run Linux on your PS3. Right now I'm running a Logitech EX110 USB keyboard and mouse combo on my PS3 and I couldn't be more happy with them. The price is great as well since it's only $40.

I hear you. I'm 12 feet from my PS3, so Bluetooth is the option for me.

Ut2007 is the first console game I hear will support both configs.
What is the full name of the game UT2007?
What kind of game is it?

Thanks!

I just bought this for my computer, but I have not yet tried it with the PS3. Is there anything I need to do before syncing it with the PS3 or is it straight forward.

Thanks in advance.

I was also debating to order a new keyboard/mouse and was looking at the mx5000. Has there been any negatives for any of you guys using it? I got a pretty sweet deal on one and it's going to be hard to pass up for use on my computer let alone if i can hook it up to the ps3 aswell.

Edit* Will logitech also work with linux?

Default Keyboard/Mouse for PS3

For those of you who are looking for a slim keyboard to pair with your PS3, I have a suggestion: BestBuy carries Rocketfish bluetooth keyboard/mouse combo for $49.99. A pretty good deal for such a combo. I got one yesterday. As soon as I inserted the USB BT adapter into the PS3 the keyboard and mouse were instantly recognized. Of course, none of the programmable buttons work.
Here's a link to the manufacturer's web site: http://www.rocketfishproducts.com/pc...cal-mouse.aspx
Sony must work on providing better support for accessories like this.

I bought this

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1124432186514

The keyboard is super slim and flat and I like the look of it better than the rocketfish.

Stupid question, why do you need a BT/USB adapter, the PS3 IS BT enabled.

Because the PS3 doesn't have support for BT keyboard and mouse. As far as I know only BT headsets can pair up with the PS3.

In games? Not yet, but I was under the impression that you could pretty much plug any USB device in there and at least have it function in the dashboard and for typing messages, using the Internet, and things of that nature. Bluetooth, especially, should work just fine.

There is no "in game" mouse and keyboard support though. At least not yet.

Can anyone spot check me on all this?

You are correct about in game, and yes any USB device will function for typing but I'm under the impression that BT keyboard and mouse will not function without the USB adapter. BT headseat will pair fine with the PS3 without any adapter.

Good 'nuff. We'll have to try and track down the info about that adapter...

Correct. At this point the only BT natively supported by PS3 are BT BD Remote and headset. A combo like the one listed above gives you a USB (supported) interface with the convenience of a BT ease of use and range.
