Smile Blu-Ray: easier manufacturing inroads than DVD?

This article talks about the possibility of an organization being created that will license all Blu-ray patents as a "one stop shop" making it easier for manufacturers to take the steps to begin production.

The need to make arrangements with multiple companies for patent rights apparently was a headache with DVD. This may be another step up in Blu-ray overtaking DVD.

I'm definitely glad that they are advancing in many different ways. This is a format with advantages for just about everyone involved. That makes for a great eco-system.
