Default The real reason for all the bad movies

They want to release the crap films before they turn on Image Constraint Token.

So people can pirate all the crap movies, but 1080p piracy of films like Star Wars, etc., is just unacceptable.

I reckon they'll get people hooked on the format, then pull the rag out from behind our feet.

Default I doubt that will happen.

People are so worried about this whole token thing. I do no see why just because you need to have a tv with HDMI. There have not been enough sets sold with that feature to do it. Just think for a moment how many people would not be able to watch movies because of that. All of the hd sets sold since the late 99 until the last year or so are is in the MILLIONS. That would just be shooting themselves in the foot. Funny how people are not worried about it for TV. The same ablity is there too, there was talk of doing that so you had to have a set with HDMI to watch the Super Bowl in HD. At the end of the day it will always be about money and until 60-80% of the tvs in homes can view movies and shows with the token on I would not lose any sleep. And the movies that are coming out. Well yes they have some poor titles, but again it is about money. Remember when cds and dvds came out. I did not want a thing on either because they catered to the crowd that would spend 1000 dollars for the player. Stats my say that ppl in that income/age group made up the sales of these titles. And the day to day releases where of current moives and lets be honest most movies this past year sucked.

Fox is against ICT. So we may never see it with their titles. In fact with BDs added copy protection it may be less likely to be used on BD than HD. But if the studios are holding back bigger titles, it's not because of ICT. Warner is waiting to be able to do PIP commentaries like they are on HD. Disney wants the technology to mature a little more too, so they can do more with their bigger titles. And then there are Lucas, Spielberg, and Cameron. All three denied DVD their bigger properties until the market had grown some or rather it had proven itself. Why they supported LD earlier I don't know. But I wouldn't expect any of their bigger draws too early. Cameron will probably be the first to give consent, then Spielberg, and later Lucas, if it plays out like DVD. They also want to make sure the bugs have been worked out or the technologies have been polished a little. Spielberg will probably want considerable hardware support in place of DTS HD. All might wait til HDMI 1.3 is more common. But they'll want to do it right the first time, so their films don't look or sound dated a year or two later.

Shouldn't be long before we hear an announcement from Spielberg then.

Actually, I'm a little fuzzy on Cameron. Seems like one or both Terminators came out fairly early on DVD too. I just remember having to wait a couple years for Titanic.

I say the first tittle from Spielberg would be Close Encounters of The 3rd Kind? as Spielberg did that movie over at Columbia what is now Sony Pictures. His other big hits like Jaws are Universal films and so far Universal has only been supporting HD DVD.Yeah theres also Indiana Jones that was made over at Paramount that would be nice to have in High Def.
As for Cameron would love to see The Abyss on Blu-Ray that would be a great Blu-Ray disc.Tittanic as well would be nice.
