Fox is against ICT. So we may never see it with their titles. In fact with BDs added copy protection it may be less likely to be used on BD than HD. But if the studios are holding back bigger titles, it's not because of ICT. Warner is waiting to be able to do PIP commentaries like they are on HD. Disney wants the technology to mature a little more too, so they can do more with their bigger titles. And then there are Lucas, Spielberg, and Cameron. All three denied DVD their bigger properties until the market had grown some or rather it had proven itself. Why they supported LD earlier I don't know. But I wouldn't expect any of their bigger draws too early. Cameron will probably be the first to give consent, then Spielberg, and later Lucas, if it plays out like DVD. They also want to make sure the bugs have been worked out or the technologies have been polished a little. Spielberg will probably want considerable hardware support in place of DTS HD. All might wait til HDMI 1.3 is more common. But they'll want to do it right the first time, so their films don't look or sound dated a year or two later.

Theres already 2 James Cameron movies out on Blu-Ray Terminator 1 and 2.

Shouldn't be long before we hear an announcement from Spielberg then.

Actually, I'm a little fuzzy on Cameron. Seems like one or both Terminators came out fairly early on DVD too. I just remember having to wait a couple years for Titanic.

I say the first tittle from Spielberg would be Close Encounters of The 3rd Kind? as Spielberg did that movie over at Columbia what is now Sony Pictures.His other big hits like Jaws are Universal films and so far Universal has only been supporting HD DVD.Yeah theres also Indiana Jones that was made over at Paramount that would be nice to have in High Def.
As for Cameron would love to see The Abyss on Blu-Ray that would be a great Blu-Ray disc.Tittanic as well would be nice.

I want them all! I think Lucas has say on when Indiana comes out though. We still haven't heard from Dreamworks and if Paramount is going to be distributing DW instead of Universal now, there's a good chance we'll see SPR and others on BD. But Spielberg and Lucas may not give consent until one format has complete studio support either, which would mean Universal releasing on BD, as Sony isn't going to release on HD as long as DVD sales are still strong, which could last another ten years. Fox is pretty adamant as well, and according to our contacts so is Disney. The way I see it, the only chance of there ever being a unified format is in Blu. At this point, if HD DVD picks up any more studio support this year, I doubt either will grow past a niche market for years, which could prolong some of the titles in question, not to mention seeing the same limited support we're seeing now of new films. But if they don't pick up any major studios, it won't even be discussed as a war by the end of 2007.

These are just a few of the 'bad' movies that will be coming out in the next couple of months on BD. How awful.
