Default Signs / The Recruit Aspect ratio ???

Signs and the The Recruit just appeared on Amazon as a pre-order but what is with the aspect ratio. Both are listed as 1.33:1!

The original apect ratio of The Recruit was 1.78:1 and the original aspect ratio of Signs wass 1.85:1.

I really hope that Disney isn't going to start a rediculous trend of releasing full screen versions on Blu.

For now, I'm holding out hope that this is simply a typo...it better be!

I just finished watching The Recruit and all I can say is WOW for its visuals and sound. It is nearly flawless. If you're a fan of this movie, then you owe it to yourself to pick this up on Blu-ray either as an import or whenever it's released in the U.S.

Coming from Amazon, not too surprising. they still list DD 5.1 as "AC3" !

Actually, the OAR for The Recruit is 2.35:1. This will be the first time it's been released in its OAR.

Yeah a lot of movies, even on the widescreen pages, say 1:33:1 on Amazon. its stupid. "The Recruit"s director was an idiot and after it was in theaters at 2:35:1 he chopped it down to 1:78:1 for the DVD. Buena Vista is going back and giving us the true aspect ratio for it now. "Signs" will be in it's 1:85:1 ratio. I prefer scope but Shyamalan has used the flatter ratio to his advantage in "Signs", "Sixth Sense", and "The Village" by doing quick reveals. His films "The Happening" and "Unbreakable" are in 2:35:1
