Default Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation Worth It?

Anyone have these two releases? Are they a decent improvement over the SD DVDs? Do they look decent enough for high-def transfers? Let me know what you think.

We though Christmas Story looked great for what it is. It's deliberately shot in a retro soft focus style, kind of like Superman. It will not look all shiny and jawdropping as say, Underworld or KOH but it's not suppossed to. We thought it looked great.

I heard 'Christmas Vacation' was quite a disappointment on Blu-Ray but I'm not sure about 'A Christmas Story' as I'll like to get that on Blu-Ray.

I have Christmas Vaction and it's definitely not demo material, but it's the best the movie has ever looked, that's for sure. Nice colors and fairly clean, but not too much in the way of the 3-D look.

So you would say it's worth buying?
