Default HDMI Cables (Monster)

I have tried to search but couldnt find the answer, and I am sure people on here are sick of being asked about cables. According to the Monster website, the cables come in 500HD, 700HD, 800, 1000 etc and to maximize your 120HZ TV you need the 1000HD model. Could anyone please confirm if this is a load of crap or you really do need the best of the best?

Get a $5 HDMI 1.3 cable from monoprice.com it'll pass the same signal, and if there are any differences (i'm sure there may be) they're indetectable to the human eye.....

I have ordered from Monoprice three times now and have nothing but nice things to say.

In fact I have a Component cable due to arrive today. $23 including standard shipping. Shipping is usually 5 week days. I ordered Sat night and it will be here today. Monoprice is in CA and I live in MD. Coast to coast via UPS not too bad.

Also the customer service is really great. I did have one of 3 HDMI cables with a bad end and it was promptly replaced. I work a lot with communications cables and failures do happen so it was no big deal to me.

Hope this helps you out. No need to spend a lot for a name that no one will ever see.

It might even make you look cooler if you explain the science and spread the anti-monster gospel ---> Copper = Copper, 0110110100 = 0110110100

One other thing is that your TV being 120Hz is irrelevant. A display of 120Hz is produced by the TV and not in the BD player so the cable wouldn't make any difference in that regard.

I'm another satisfied monoprice.com customer for HDMI cables. I highly recommend them.

if an hdmi cable is 10.2 Gbps, does that mean that it is hdmi 1.3? Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that 1.3 signifies the amount of data that it can carry.

The 1.3 spec (as I understand it) requires 10 gigabytes per second (GPS). So the answer to your question is yes.

actually it requires LESS bandwidth since you are sending 24 instead 60 frames per second.
